When Molly Lansing Davis (Kristen Vaganos) saw the paperwork in her mom’s briefcase that signaled she was helping Kristina map this out, a flood of emotions must have overcome her.
But it still probably won’t compare to how TJ will be left feeling, since he’s the one who doubted Kristina’s sincerity in being their surrogate all along — and he’s the only one who was willing to call Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) out for supporting Kristina more than he liked.
But Molly has been conflicted all along, and sometimes felt inclined to defend her sister. Now that she’s seen the truth with her own eyes, will TJ’s insistence on pursuing legal action be a sticking point that destroys his union with Molly, or will she stand behind him all the way?
Truth be told, Molly has no rights to the deceased child, Irene Marie. While she had intended to be her mother, that paperwork was never filed after the baby was born and died imminently. Legally, the child’s parents are Kristina and TJ.
Thus, legally, Kristina could have sued TJ for custody, and she had a very strong chance at winning it. Claiming she was doing so to protect the baby and keep her in the family no matter what happened with TJ and Molly, no one ever took that argument seriously because TJ and Molly weren’t at risk of breaking up. Will they be now though?
It’ll be TJ who has to take action in this case since he’s the legal biological father of the child. Will he turn on Kristina and help FBI Special Agent John ‘Jagger’ Cates (Adam Harrington) take her down for murdering his baby? Will Molly support that?
Kristina has had just about enough. Her pregnancy has been rife with struggles — many of them induced by TJ and Molly’s bickering and judgment of her. The accident left her without child and traumatized, not to mention fighting for her own life.
Just before Cates showed up at Alexis Davis’ (Nancy Lee Grahn) place to harass Kristina some more, she was upset to learn TJ and Molly named the baby without her input.
Will Molly’s rage and feelings of betrayal upon finding the custody paperwork lead to a massive dispute between sisters that sparks TJ’s desire to pile on Kristina? If so, we can bet she’s not done with the choice words she has for him and her sister.
Was Kristina’s concern about Molly and TJ breaking up all of this time some kind of twisted foreshadowing of what’s to come?
Could the stress of losing the baby and battling her family end up tearing them apart in the end? While Molly might actually understand TJ’s position and even identify with it, that doesn’t mean she won’t grieve how it feels to practically lose her sister and possibly her mother as well.
TJ won’t have to reconcile such a loss on his end, on top of having already lost his child.
