GH Spoilers: Will Sam’s Career As Private Investigator End Up Costing Her Life?

General Hospital spoilers reveal Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) will die sometime this fall, but the details of her death have been left up to speculation.

While plenty of fans are marching along in protest of Monaco being left go from GH after 21 years of service, others are saying it’s high time because her storylines fell short of entertaining since she gave Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) the boot.

Many fans have remarked that move painted her as so much more fragile and fearsome than she ever was before, and that’s just not the Sam they knew and fell in love with all those years ago.

If that’s the case, maybe they’ll try to do her character some justice by ensuring that the last sliver of danger she has kept in her life — her profession — is precisely what takes her out.

Once upon a time, Sam was the perfect partner to compliment someone like Jason. She was fierce and edgy. She came to town as a con artist and got swept up in the criminal chaos and charm of guys like Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard).

Her past was decorated with fraudulent marriages that lined her pockets. She was bitter and unafraid to clap back at Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) upon finding out Alexis was her biological mother who gave her up for adoption. But as the years passed, Sam lost a bit of her luster, some fans say.

Some fans point to Sam becoming a mother as the trademark move that changed her, but others disagree. After all, Sam actually became a mother years ago to baby Lila Morgan, who was stillborn. She didn’t change her stripes way back then.

Instead, she embraced a life filled with adrenaline rushes, cortisol spikes, and danger alongside Jason on his motorcycle. She was bigger on leather than lace, and he was the love of her life — until he wasn’t.

Suddenly, Sam decided Jason was too dangerous to be her husband and too dangerous to be the father of her kid — you know, after she already married him and had a child with him.

Then she married his twin brother, Drew Quartermaine (Cameron Mathison). At that point, some fans seriously began to doubt how much she ever could have really loved Jason.

Now, Sam is scheduled to die soon and it doesn’t look like a life-threatening illness is coming her way. That might be one of the most common ways that people go out on GH, but it sounds like Sam is going to be taken out of the blue.
