As Willow hoped Elizabeth hadn’t overheard her confessions about her feelings for Drew Quartermaine (Cameron Mathison), some part of her might also have been hoping she did.
The truth is, she wants this bubble to burst. She might be struggling with the guilt of falling for a man who isn’t her husband, but she’s struggling even more with having to hide it.
With Willow and Drew showing no signs of ending their budding romance, it’s possible Willow may soon look for someone to confide in who isn’t her naysaying mother, Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros).
Willow and Drew already screwed up with that kiss on the Fourth of July. Telling Nina about it made Willow feel so much better — for a minute. But she still continued to hate herself for hurting Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell), although he doesn’t know it.
Now that she knows how Nina feels about this tryst between her and Drew — really, just the tip of the iceberg on how she really feels — Willow may be less inclined to tell her about their reboot the night Drew found out Congressman Larry McConkey (Sam McMurray) had died.
She already knows Nina won’t be on board with this, so she’ll need to lean on someone else to support her guilty conscience.
Elizabeth might seem like an unlikely ally for Willow, but we shouldn’t forget all the times she’s got it wrong. Nurse Baldwin is hardly the new Bobbie Spencer (Jaclyn Zeman), despite her promotion. She has nearly lost her license a few times.
She lied about who the father of her child was. She’s cheated. She’s broken hearts because of whatever felt good to her at the time. She misled Drew when he was “John Doe.”
She helped Nikolas Cassadine (Adam Huss) hold a pregnant Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) hostage in the musty tower of his mansion on Spoon Island.
She let Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) think she cheated on him and was pregnant with Nikolas’ baby to cover her tracks. As kind as she is, Elizabeth’s moral compass doesn’t always point due north. Covering for Willow to have an affair wouldn’t be hard for her.
When Elizabeth clapped back at Willow for her comments about Lucky Spencer (Jonathan Jackson), it was clearly coming from a place of hurt and heartache.
Clarifying that later, she and Willow left things on good terms. Is this workplace chit chat just the start of a deepening friendship that might come to manifest between Elizabeth and Willow?
Is Willow going to end up confiding in Elizabeth — who is likely to keep her secret and possibly even encourage her to follow her heart even if it leads her into bed with Drew?
