While he seems charming at face value, we don’t know a whole lot about him. He shared a story with Lucky Spencer (Jonathan Jackson) about why he quit working as a transplant surgeon — and it seemed to fall a bit flat with fans.
Don’t all doctors lose their patients sometimes? Why would this one patient have led to him giving up his career — and his life — to go practice a lower level of care in Africa?
With rumors swirling that Isaiah may have done something to sabotage Lulu Falconeri’s (Alexa Havins) ventilator when it failed without issuing any alarm, Lucky and others may soon begin to wonder whether it’ll be Isaiah who claims Sam McCall’s (Kelly Monaco) life too? But why?
Lucky only came to know Isaiah when he was being held against his will by Jenz Sidwell (Carlo Rota) at his compound in Africa. It’s possible that Isaiah was a plant all along.
Could Sidwell have put him in place as a faux prisoner to tease information out of Lucky and even plant him in Port Charles on purpose? I
If so, what was the deal with that hit and run? Did Isaiah go rogue and turn on Sidwell? Is he at risk of being exposed if he doesn’t carry out Sidwell’s orders — one of which might have been tampering with Lulu’s ventilator?
Killing Sam might be on Sidwell’s short list of ways to get back at Jason Morgan (Steve Burton).
It’s also possible that Isaiah may disagree with the lengths everyone is going to just to try to preserve Lulu’s life.
She hasn’t had a good quality of life in years, and the likelihood that she’s ever going to wake up from this coma isn’t high. Being a doctor — and a transplant surgeon, at that — Isaiah has likely seen his fair share of difficult cases.
He knows what to expect and that talking sense into Lucky is unlikely. At the same time, he could learn of a complication with Sam’s help and think it’s his role to play God and take her out instead of letting her suffer a fate similar to Lulu’s upon coming out of surgery.
It’s not looking very good for Sam to come out of this surgery on the other side with a renewed sense of faith in the medical system.
Her family will probably be torn to pieces over her death, and Jason and Drew Quartermaine (Cameron Mathison) will be as bent as Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) on trying to figure out who is responsible.
If it looks like an accident, that doesn’t mean the surgeon — Isaiah — didn’t do it on purpose. If it’s not an accident, and she was murdered, will anyone point the finger of blame at him?
Could it be that Cyrus Reneault (Jeff Kober) is finally ready to see his work through and make sure both his niece and Sam meet their maker?
