GH Spoilers: Will Drew Dump Carly Over Jason’s Return-Realize He’s Been A Placeholder?

General Hospital (GH) spoilers and updates tease Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) could dump Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) over his twin Jason Morgan’s (Steve Burton) return.

Once he finds out that Jason’s back and didn’t die in that tunnel after all, he could either realize he’s been a placeholder or just can’t compete with ‘Jarly’s’ bond.

General Hospital Spoilers – Drew Cain Laid Down Ground Rules From The Get Go

After Drew failed to save Jason’s life-or so he thought-in the tunnels under Cassadine Island, he laid down ground rules from the get-go with Carly. After they started getting close, he told her he wouldn’t be Jason’s substitute or his placeholder.

They supported each other through their grief over Jason, Drew finally feeling like a real brother to him down in those tunnels and Drew grieved Jason along with Carly.

But Jason and Carly have a years-long deep bond and they almost got married when Drew was missing and presumed dead himself.

Old feelings had come back from before Carly was even involved with Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard).

GH Spoilers – Drew Cain Will Feel Relieved He’s Alive, But Also Feel Competition

Drew hasn’t exactly been himself since returning from Pentonville, and he’s had an ugly grudge against Nina Reeves Corinthos (Cynthia Watros) which has caused some friction between him and Carly.

Carly has just wanted to move on, and even quit the job Drew forced her into replacing Nina at Crimson Magazine, she just wanted to honor her mother by running Bobbie’s.

Once he finds out Jason is alive and he’s back in town, he’ll feel relieved but he’ll also feel competition for Carly, whether Jason feels more than friends or not.

Drew will sense that now that Jason’s back, he’s just been a placeholder for him all along, even though Carly denies it. That, and his Nina vendetta could cause Carly to dump Drew, supposedly proving his point.

On the other hand, Drew could be the one to dump Carly, feeling that he’s no competition for Jason, even if they deny they’re anything more than friends.

For years, he, Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Carly were like the Three Musketeers, Jason staying involved closely even when Carly and Sonny were broken up.

When they nearly married the last time before Jason went to Cassadine Island to help rescue Drew, it was because Sonny was presumed dead and mostly out of protection.

But Drew, looking at Jason and Carly’s relationship from mostly the outside, may feel he’s a third wheel. And let’s not forget Drew has a lot of Jason’s memories, so there’s no fooling him about Jason and Carly!
