GH Spoilers: Will Ava Join Forces With Laura To Put Sonny Behind Bars?

General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal Ava Jerome (Maura West) has managed to secure a pretty valuable source of testimony for her impending custody battle against Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard).

It doesn’t get much better than Mayor Laura Collins (Genie Francis). That being said, Laura has been upset with Sonny for many of her own reasons.

Still, she would never let that cause her to be impartial. She made it clear that she would testify on Ava’s behalf — but not because she thinks the world of Ava.

Rather, she is concerned about Sonny’s behavior as of late and believes he has changed for the worse. So, between the two of them, she feels Aa is better-suited for full custody of their child.

General Hospital Spoilers — “Don’t Make Me Regret This”

Laura was also very clear with Ava that she was taking a big chance on her and she knew it. She wasn’t entirely comfortable with Ava’s approach and felt that her former daughter-in-law was trying to finagle her into doing something instead of being direct.

A straightforward approach still got Ava what she wanted in the end, but not without Laura warning her that she better not do anything to make Laura regret being on her side. Ava was lying through her teeth when she promised she wouldn’t do that.

She may truly value Laura and think of her as family, but that doesn’t mean Laura’s respect and their relationship is more important to her than getting even with Sonny. Little does she know right now, it may be Laura who helps her do so.

It sounds like Sonny really is mounting a defense to go up against Ava. Planning to attack her for not having a permanent residence the moment she vacated his, Sonny might think he has the upper hand in this situation, but fewer people than ever are going to be on his side.

He doesn’t trust Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) or Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) — the two people most likely to have his back when it comes to him being a good parent. But he used to have friends on the right side of the law that would have carried more clout in a courtroom.

Now that people like Laura are going to write him off, it won’t be as easy as he thought. That being said, we can’t wait to see his reaction when he goes to Laura asking for her favorable testimony and she tells him she’ll be delivering such for Ava instead.

General Hospital Spoilers — Ava Jerome Knows Too Much

Right now, Laura knows a lot more than she’d like to about Sonny, and she is certainly not feeling the same way about her old pal these days as she once did.

Knowing what he did to her brother, Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober), and that Sonny still tried to have him killed, Laura is comfortable with any criminal case moving forward that could put Sonny behind bars. That wasn’t always the case.

Of course, Ava doesn’t know this yet, but word on the street is she’s about to. When she learns that both Laura and Police Commissioner Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) are on the right side of this when it comes to Sonny, will she set him up for failure?

Combined with her knowledge of his business affairs, personal problems, and poorly managed meds, can she secure custody of Avery Corinthos (Grace Scarola) by sending Sonny away for life? Keep checking back for more GH news and spoilers to find out.
