General Hospital (GH) spoilers indicate that the truth about Sam McCall’s (Kelly Monaco) has finally been revealed.
In a recent episode, Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) flashed back to entering Sam’s hospital room where he injected her IV bag with digitalis. The drug caused Sam to have a heart attack and unfortunately, the staff at General Hospital couldn’t revive her.
Even though we now know that Cyrus killed Sam, we don’t know why. Let’s take a look at some of the most likely motives Cyrus may have had.
General Hospital Spoilers – Sam McCall Could Have Been Working On A Case Involving Cyrus Renault
Sam was a private investigator. And although we haven’t seen her working on any cases recently, that doesn’t mean it didn’t happen off screen. Perhaps Sam took on a case that Cyrus knew would eventually implicate him in a crime.
The last thing Cyrus wants is to go back to prison, so if Sam was in the process of gaining evidence against Cyrus, he would likely have used any means necessary to stay out of prison, including murder.
GH Spoilers – Cyrus Renault Hated Julian Jerome
Cyrus may have had revenge in mind when he killed Sam. As long-time viewers know, Sam’s father once was forced to work for Cyrus.
In fact, it was Julian Jerome (William Devries) who delivered the bomb that destroyed the Floating Rib and caused Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havans) to suffer a brain injury that led to her comatose state.
Cyrus recently mentioned how he blamed Jullian for Lulu’s coma even though if he were being honest with himself, he would put the blame squarely on his own shoulders.
But since Cyrus seems to blame Julian, perhaps he is getting his revenge by killing Julian’s daughter.
General Hospital Spoilers – Cyrus Renault Had Plans For Lulu Spencer
Cyrus seemed to think Lulu would be waking up sooner rather than later. He may have even tried to make it happen by turning off Lulu’s ventilator.
While it’s still not clear why Cyrus wanted to send Lulu away, he may have killed Sam so Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zomprogna) would be free to romance Lulu once she finally did wake up.
Part of Cyrus may also blame himself for the explosion. It’s also possible that Cyrus has a motive that is completely unclear at this time.
What do you think?
Were you surprised to learn that Cyrus killed Sam? Did Sam have evidence that could put Cyrus back in prison? Could Cyrus have wanted Sam out of the way so that Lulu would eventually reunite with Dante?
