Unfortunately, the grief will have a way of making it seem as though the dust is settled on who the baby’s actual mother was, and that’s far from the truth.
With everyone just trying to take things day by day, no one is considering what it’ll be like to lay this baby to rest except for TJ Ashford (Tajh Bellow), who has likely already considered pushback he and Molly Lansing Davis (Kristen Vaganos) may get from a grief-stricken Kristina Corinthos Davis (Kate Mansi).
With Molly being practically unwilling to even acknowledge the next steps that need to be taken as she remains preoccupied with how it all happened, TJ may take it upon himself to make all of the arrangements — leaving both Molly and Kristina out in the cold.
While it may look like grief has consumed this family, that’s not the only problem brewing. They have to move on from this tragedy soon and take steps toward healing.
How can they do that when everything was so noticeably fractured just before Kristina fell three stories into the Metro Court Hotel pool, resulting in the baby’s death?
TJ is trying to grieve this loss without his domestic partner by his side. Kristina is focusing on the one thing she feels she has any control over — persecuting Ava Jerome (Maura West).
As for Kristina, she’s claiming her apparently rightful role as the baby’s mother — without considering TJ or Molly’s feelings on the matter.
Ever the responsible one, TJ is shouldering a lot of the painful moments in this process as he attempts to do the right thing and lay this baby girl to rest.
With Molly playing detective and unable to cope with packing up the nursery or even consoling her man, she’s probably not thinking about how a funeral would make Kristina feel either — but we can bet TJ is, and he’s so angry he may not care.
Without Molly interjecting to buffer his urges to take full control as the baby’s parents, Kristina could be cut out of this process altogether. Spiteful? Maybe.
With Kristina so clearly and strongly feeling she is the mother of this baby, it’s going to be hard for her to hear TJ and Molly have solidified arrangements for a funeral service and they never even thought to ask for her to weigh in.
Moreover, their choosing a name for the child without Kristina’s consent will be a painful realization for the whole family. In the end, Molly will be out of touch as TJ and Kristina struggle to make parenting choices for a deceased child they legally share.
Alexis may feel she has no choice but to get involved — perhaps even legally, and that could jeopardize the entire family even more. Stay tuned for more GH news and spoilers to see how this plays out.
