GH Spoilers: The Island Is The New Nixon Falls — And Ava Is The New Nina

General Hospital (GH) spoilers claim Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) is running on fumes at this point in his marriage. He’s not ready to speak to Nina Reeves Corinthos (Cynthia Watros), much less consider the idea of jumping back into a marriage with her.

She’s been booted from his penthouse without so much as a goodbye. When Nina showed up at the home she had shared with him, it was Ava Jerome (Maura West) who answered the door before Sonny slammed it in her face.

Sonny was kind enough to insist that Ava stay with him until they figure out who has been taunting and stalking her. Now, they’re both single and lonely — what’s the worst that could happen as they share the same living space with their daughter on a remote island?

General Hospital Spoilers — Ava Jerome Switches Sides

It doesn’t sound like Nina will be welcome at the penthouse again for some time, and she’s certainly not getting an invitation to the island where she just married Sonny a few months ago. Kept on the perimeter, Nina isn’t even taking Ava’s calls as of late.

That’s probably not the strongest move to make since Ava is currently the closest person Nina knows to Sonny. But as Nina continues to ice Ava out, and Ava watches as Sonny struggles to move on, she could very well switch to Team Sonny in the blink of an eye.

GH Spoilers – Report Sonny Corinthos Gets To Be The Hero

Coming under fire on the island was the last thing Sonny or Ava expected. That was supposed to be a safe haven, not a firing range.

Now, Ava will be startled from the attack and Sonny gets to be the guy who makes it all better. We all know how much Ava loves to be saved from just about anything by a hunky man who feels it’s his obligation to look out for her.

Truth be told, Sonny hides behind the excuse that he would do this for any of his children’s mothers, but he and Ava certainly are getting chummy while they’re at it.

When Ava has pried into Sonny’s business by asking about his intentions with Nina, he was very clear that he didn’t want to talk about it.

That is slowly starting to shift, and he begins to open up more, rumor has it Ava isn’t going to betray him in the way he worried.

She won’t run back to Nina and tell her everything Sonny said. Instead, she’s going to become his confidante — and perhaps more than that.

Do we sense a Nixon Falls reboot coming on, except this time it’s set on the island and it’s Ava in Nina’s shoes — falling for a guy she knows she shouldn’t fall for. Hey, who’s to say he’s not going to return her feelings?
