General Hospital (GH) spoilers report Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) appears to have drifted off of the GH canvas with his portrayer, Michael Easton, sharing last week on social media that his time on the sudster has come to an end.
The last episode that aired with Finn present was a real heartbreaker. He had to say goodbye to Violet Finn (Jophielle Love) for the next ninety days — although at least one of them had no idea that it would be much longer than that.
Finn’s heartfelt goodbye seemed genuine. He was planning to get help so he could come back home and be a good father to Violet. At the same time, we know his mental state isn’t exactly crystal clear right now.
When Chase got back to the Quartermaine mansion after dropping his brother off at treatment, one of the first questions Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) asked him was whether he watched his brother walk into the facility.
Confirming he did, they were both sad but filled with relief that Finn took this step. Did he though? If he’s gone from GH, then what happens over the next ninety days and beyond? Is he not actually recovering and coming home?
That sounds like a far too neat and tidy storyline, doesn’t it? Was Finn actually planning to abandon Violet and this display of emotion was his big goodbye because he knew he wasn’t coming back to her?
Was he somehow captured by nefarious forces when he walked into that addiction treatment center? Did he walk back out of treatment to go get drunk? We’re left with so many questions.
For the foreseeable figure, Chase and Brook Lynn will take their roles as Violet’s temporary legal guardians seriously.
They will continue to tell Violet her daddy will be home before she knows it, reminding her that this is not a permanent situation while worrying it could potentially become one.
On the other hand, something tells us Brook Lynn may be rather keen on it ending up that way. Regardless, Brook Lynn and Chase won’t think anything of it that they aren’t talking to Finn for a while, despite Violet’s likely pleas to see and speak to her dad.
We expect that some time will pass before Chase encounters any red flags about his brother’s status in treatment.
He may be expecting to check in soon or eventually go visit him, but it’s possible that the first few weeks or thirty days are closed off to all visitation and communication.
That means by the time Chase learns that his brother isn’t in treatment, it’ll be a long time since the last time he saw him.
Learning what happened, where Finn went, or whether he’s coming back is going to be the most difficult mystery for Detective Chase to solve yet — and he may not be able to.
Is this GH’s way of leaving Finn off to the side without killing him off? If so, we’re here for it. In the meantime, Violet will be waiting for her father’s return the same way she has been her mother’s, with no end in sight. Stay tuned for more GH news and spoilers to see how this pans out.
