General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal Nikolas Cassadine (Adam Huss) has turned himself in to the PCPD for holding Esme Prince (Avery Kristen Pohl) hostage when she was pregnant with his child.
This was a crushing blow for Nikolas, but he does want to be a man his family can be proud of again. In the wake of his son — Spencer Cassadine’s (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) — death, Nikolas is looking at having to make peace with what he’s done from the inside of a jail cell.
That is, until Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) considers dropping the charges because Esme is no longer around to testify against him. Will his confession be enough for Heather Webber (Alley Mills) to hold over his head and insist the trial move forward?
It took everything in Nikolas to fight the urge to run like the wind away from Port Charles. His instinct was to leave his baby boy, Ace Cassadine (Jay and Joey Clay), all over again and head for the hills to escape being prosecuted for a crime he did commit.
Without their key witness, the prosecution could have a hard time proving that Nikolas did any of the things Elizabeth Baldwin (Rebecca Herbst) claimed he did.
After all, Esme was suffering from memory loss, and she never affirmed the recollection of those memories to the PCPD that Nikolas did any of what he is accused of.
When Nik gets to go home because the charges can’t hold up in court without stronger corroboration, Heather will be out for blood.
Heather meant what she said at the cemetery when she stared Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom) in the eyes, accused him of having a God complex, and warned him to never let any harm come to her grandson or she would ensure he paid dearly.
The only comfort she has at this point is that Nikolas will pay for what he did to Esme, and he won’t be anywhere near Ace. But as it becomes clear that’s not the way this cookie is going to crumble, it’ll be Heather who falls apart.
Word on the street is Elizabeth may have a harder time than she expected with Esme’s death. She may even visit Heather in hopes of bringing a grieving mother some comfort.
If Heather can convince Elizabeth to craft a new and stronger narrative about what Nikolas did to Esme — and even go so far as to manufacture evidence against him — he won’t stand a chance at beating the charges a second time.
Elizabeth is certainly still angry with Nikolas for putting her in the position that he did, despite the fact that she takes responsibility for her own poor choices.
Will she seek to absolve herself of the guilt that still eats at her by honoring Heather’s request to help her put Nikolas away — whatever means necessary? Keep checking back with us for more GH news and spoilers to find out.
