GH Spoilers: Steve Burton Reflects On The Enduring Quartermaine Legacy

General Hospital (GH) spoilers and updates reveal changes are afoot at General Hospital, and one of the most significant developments is Jason Morgan’s (Steve Burton) return to the Quartermaine mansion.

Following the accident, Jason has distanced himself from the Quartermaine legacy, choosing instead to embrace a life alongside Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) rather than the corporate world of his family.

General Hospital Spoilers: Things Changed And Jason Changed After His TBI

Longtime viewers will recall the episode when Jason, seeing his brother AJ Quartermaine (Sean Kanan) rushed out of the Quartermaine mansion to stop AJ from driving drunk.

Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) saw the wreck, when AJ crashed into a tree on the Quartermaine grounds and Jason was thrown against a large rock, causing a traumatic brain injury.

Ned, then going by his birth father’s last name “Ashton” immediately rushed out to help Jason, and AJ of course, being drunk, was uninjured.

That led Jason to completely change, having been the“golden boy” who was well on his way to following in his father Alan Quartermaine’s (Stuart Damon) footsteps as a doctor.

Instead, he rejected all things Quartermaine other than taking Lila Quartermaine’s (Anna Lee) maiden name “Morgan” and became Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) enforcer.

Eventually, Jason did accept some of his family- Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson) has consistently been a reliable figure in his life, and his bond with Emily Quartermaine (Natalia Livingston) was truly unique.

Following the tragic passing of Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco), Jason finds himself compelled to support their son.

He and Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) have agreed that co-parenting the children is the most beneficial approach, and while Drew Quartermaine (Cameron Mathison) appears to be in agreement, there are moments when he seems to waver.

Currently, Danny Morgan, (Asher Antonyzyn) Rocco Falconeri, (Finn Carr) Emily “Scout” Quartermaine (Cosette Abinante) all live as a blended family with all three of their fathers in the Quartermaine mansion.

Recently, during a break on the General Hospital set, Steve shared a glimpse of the Quartermaine foyer with his followers.

The table featured photos of past Quartermaines, highlighting their significant role in the show; as the number of Quartermaines decreases, Steve asked fans about their favorite family member.

On Instagram, he posted a view of the Quartermaine mansion’s foyer, writing, “Blessed to join @generalhospitalabc as a Q; with Jason back, it brings back many memories.

It’s clear that Jason remains a presence, even if he hasn’t taken on the family name. His sons, Danny and Jake Webber (played by Hudson West), are both heirs to the Quartermaine legacy.

Ned continues to reside in the mansion, while his daughter, Brook Lynn Quartermaine Chase (portrayed by Amanda Setton), also holds a claim to the Quartermaine fortune. Tracy is very much alive and still stirring up trouble within the mansion’s walls.

Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell), being AJ’s son, means that his children, Wiley and Amelia Corinthos (Viron Weaver, Serenity, and Sequoia Mork Macko), are part of the Quartermaine lineage as well.

The latest generation of Quartermaines is quite different from their predecessors-back when Alan, Lila, Edward, and Monica were in the spotlight, the drama was much more palpable.

Or was it-while it might appear that the Quartermaine antics have diminished since Alan and Monica’s time, shifting the narrative towards Sonny and his mob dealings, this year marked a notable change.

For the first time, a Thanksgiving dinner didn’t culminate in a pizza delivery; instead, a wild and somewhat scandalous reveal unfolded at a Quartermaine Christmas gathering.

You could say that Drew’s Christmas goose was cooked, along with that of Michael’s wife’s, Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen)!
