GH Spoilers: Stars React To Kelly Monaco’s GH Exit

General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Kelly Monaco exited the show on October 24, 2024 after twenty-one years as Sam McCall. Kelly’s co-stars are reacting to her sudden exit from the ABC Soap. Monaco joined the show as the spunky Sam in 2003.

Sam died after she donated part of her liver to Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins). Sam’s current leading man, Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) was among those saying goodbye.

General Hospital Spoilers – Dominic Zamprogna Spoke With Soap Opera Digest

General Hospital’s Zamprogna spoke with Soap Opera Digest about those last scenes. Of course, Dante wasn’t there when Sam passed away so his scenes were Kelly’s last. “My monologues were her last scenes, so we finished those scenes and I basically said goodbye to Kelly then and there.” Dominic always said concerning Kelly’s final weeks of taping. “She was amazing. Amazing, amazing, amazing.”

Zamprogna went on to say, “We’re kind of living a bit of a fake reality on the show,” Zamprogna continued. “There are not a lot of shows that are on the air as long as GH. There are not a lot of actors who can say they’ve been on a show for one year, let alone 21 years.

I think sometimes you don’t want to know what life will be like without it because you’re so used to something. But I’ve found the greatest things in my life have come when it feels like a door is closing. And I was really trying to emphasize that to her.”

GH Spoilers – Characters Come Back All The Time

Sam may be dead but characters die and come back all the time. Zamprogna isn’t ruling out a return. He says he still checks on Kelly once a week.

Monaco was blindsided when she was let go from the soap, but that doesn’t mean that she won’t be called back at some point. Look at her ex-husband, he’s come back twice since 2017.

Wally Kurth who plays Ned Quartermaine on GH also works on Days of Our Lives as Justin Kiriakis. Kurth talks about going into work and seeing the truck that Kelly fans had hired as they campaigned for her to keep her job. Fans may not have gotten their way yet but that doesn’t mean it won’t eventually happen.

General Hospital Spoilers – There Have Been Others

Kelly may be the longest running GH actor that has left the show this year but she’s certainly not the only one.

Adam J. Harrington (Jagger Cates), Michael Easton (Hamilton Finn), Gregory Harrison Gregory Chase), and Nicholas Alexander Chavez (Spencer Cassadine) have all left this year so far. Fans have certainly been asking for all of them to return.

Fans are continuing to keep a petition going to get the point across that they want Kelly back on the show. Fans wanted no part of Kelly leaving in the first place. However, ABC refused to listen to fans and killed Sam off anyway. Well Sam eventually be back?

Only time will tell, however, some fans and actors alike would love to have Kelly on another soap as well.
