General Hospital (GH) spoilers and updates tease Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) will contemplate his future after a heart scare. Will the Port Charles Don be forced to slow down for health reasons?

General Hospital Spoilers – Sonny Corinthos Clutched His Chest After Talking With Kristina

In the episode of December 26, after having a close father-daughter talk with his daughter Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi) Sonny suddenly clutched his chest in pain.

Kristina had left Sonny’s living room on the way to bed, but if this had happened in her sight, no doubt she would have called an ambulance. Sonny “shook it off” and continued about his business after this sharp pain, but by the look on his face, it was quite intense.

It looks like Sonny may have a heart issue which will need to be diagnosed and addressed. Although it could be angina, which is not as serious, it could be an impending heart attack as well, because he will worry about his future.

GH Spoilers – Sonny Corinthos’s About The Right Age When Many Men Have Heart Attacks

Sonny’s got to be close to sixty at least, and about the right age when many men have heart attacks-Maurice Benard is 61 in real life.

Most men in real life think about retiring or slowing down by this age, although for some, continuing in their work keeps them vital-depending on the type of work.

Even though Sonny is a coffee importer and owns several businesses, including Volonino’s Gym, Pozzulo’s Restaurant in Port Charles, his other “business” is quite stressful.

Even if there aren’t active mob wars in Port Charles right now, he still has to keep his “nose clean” with the WSB’s Jack Brennan (Charles Mesure) in Port Charles.

Plus, he’s got a lot of family he’s trying to be strong for with recent stresses of their own-Josslyn Jacks, (Eden McCoy) Michael Corinthos, (Chad Duell) and Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna).

General Hospital Spoilers – Sonny Corthinos Also Grieves Sam McCall’s Death

Sonny also grieves Sam McCall’s (Kelly Monaco) death-she was with him before she got together with Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and that’s added stress on Sonny as well.

Right now, two people close to Sonny have been victims of a killer in the hospital under similar circumstances-soon, Dex Heller’s (Evan Hofer) death will be classified a murder.

Although if Sonny has a heart scare, he may not have a full on heart attack that requires his hospitalization, at the very least he’ll contemplate slowing down.

But if he is hospitalized, he may do well to go to Mercy Hospital instead of GH-lest he, too become a victim. If he were to require heart surgery or a bypass, he could very well become the digitalis killer’s next victim-because Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) will continue his spree!
