General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) have both seemingly turned their backs on Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) without so much as hearing his version of events. Of course, that’s hard to do when he’s a fugitive from justice.
Sonny and Sam are behaving as though that is some kind of admission of guilt — and that escaping the police and going on the run is out of the ordinary for Jason.
They both know better. So why are they both coming down so hard on the guy and how could they possibly be convinced that he had anything to do with shooting Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna)?
Furthermore, how could either of them take issue with Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) for defending Jason the same way she always has and giving him the benefit of the doubt? As usual, the devil is in the details.
General Hospital Spoilers — Sonny Corinthos Stands Firm
When Sonny and Carly met up the night the police searched her lakeside home, he was surprised to hear she saw Jason at such a late hour.
Rather, he couldn’t believe he wasn’t her first call. Explaining how quickly everything went down, and that she had no time before the police arrived, Sonny seemed to cut Carly some slack.
She wouldn’t give the same deference to Jason — his long-lost best friend who was back from the dead.
Carly and Sonny clearly weren’t going to see eye to eye on Jason’s potential involvement in Dante being shot, but we’re all assuming he’ll backpedal on his feelings once the evidence clears Jason of any wrongdoing.
GH Spoilers – Hint Sam McCall Claps Back
When Carly stopped by the hospital to check in on Dante and see how Sam was holding up, she was caught off guard to find an even more hostile reception coming from her friend. Is Sam finally tired of Carly’s antics? Maybe she’s tired of swapping men with her.
The most likely explanation is that Sam is grieving right now and doesn’t know if she’ll ever see Dante open his eyes. If there is any possibility that Jason might be responsible for shooting Dante, then Sam wants justice to be served.
That’s fair, but why is she so bent on insisting he may be and not giving him the benefit of the doubt?
General Hospital Spoilers — It All Comes Back To Carly Spencer
The truth is, there is no way Carly and Jason can rekindle the romance that Sonny imploded when he came back from Nixon Falls — not as long as they’re both on good terms with the don, and with Sam.
It’s quite likely that Sam will take issue with Jason involving their son, Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzyn), in his fugitive escapade.
So even if she learns he’s innocent, she’s going to have a bone to pick with him. Likewise, Sonny won’t like that Jason has complied with orders to nearly take him out.
That means he went against their brotherly bond — something he never would have done in the past, even if coerced or blackmailed. Thus, Sonny won’t be forgiving Jason anytime soon either.
Furthermore, neither he nor Sam will be keen on Carly taking up for Jason and continuing to give him passes for what they deem to be unforgivable behavior.
Is this the only way we can see Carly and Jason have a real shot at love — if their relationships with Sam and Sonny are on the outs? If so, so be it! Keep checking back with us for more GH news and spoilers just ahead to see how this plays out.
