GH Spoilers: Sonny And Nina Have Finally Gotten Some Much Needed Closure

General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that years ago Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Bernard) disappeared and was believed to have died.

But the truth was he had amnesia and was living hundreds of miles away in a small town called Nixon Falls. Sonny went by the name of “Mike” and it was then that Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) discovered him.

Nina chose not to tell Sonny who he really was nor did she contact his family to let them know he was actually alive. Instead, she allowed herself to fall in love with “Mike”, a man who really didn’t exist.

General Hospital Spoilers – Sonny Corinthos Returned To Port Charles

Nina was able to keep up the charade for many months until Sonny finally regained his memory. He quickly returned to Port Charles, and even though he tried, he couldn’t get Nina out of his mind.

Sonny eventually divorced Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) and to everyone’s surprise, he began seeing Nina, but this time as Sonny.

Nina never truly fit into Sonny’s life, and Mike wasn’t real. But they married anyway, although Nina’s own secrets ended up tearing them apart.

GH Spoilers – Sonny Corinthos Couldn’t Forgive Nina Reeves

Sonny discovered that Nina had secretly tipped off the SEC regarding Carly’s crime of insider trading. Sonny couldn’t forgive Nina’s lies and he filed for divorce.

After Ava Jerome (Maura West) deceived Nina into making Sonny even angrier, she signed the divorce papers. Sonny and Nina have barely seen one another since that happened.

But last week, Sonny approached Nina to ask for her help. Sonny is about to go to war with Ava over their daughter Avery Jerome-Corinthos (Grace and Ava Scarola) and he wanted Nina’s help if it came down to it in court.

Nina agreed to help Sonny and the two of them had their first real talk since the divorce. They wished each other well but it was clear that their relationship is over. Nina even admitted as much to Maxie Jones (Kirsten Jones).

While she will always care for Sonny, she never belonged in his world and the man she fell in love with didn’t really exist. Now perhaps Sonny and Nina can become friends and put their past behind them.
