General Hospital spoilers and updates reveal Risa Dorken, GH’s gossipy nurse Amy Driscoll, hasn’t been seen on the show in a very long time.

Risa recently shared on social media her eight-month quest to obtain correct diagnoses for her medical problems, and finally, thankfully, is now on the mend!

General Hospital Spoilers – A Real Life Mystery Diagnosis In Need Of A Real-Life Dr. Gregory House!

Unfortunately, the Discovery Channel’s series “Mystery Diagnosis” has been off the air several years, or Risa would have been an excellent subject for an episode there.

Dr. Gregory House, played by Hugh Laurie, who was an expert diagnostician wasn’t real-heck, a real-life Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) would have come in handy for Risa. But for an inordinately long time, she suffered with no diagnoses for several issues, let alone any treatments!

Risa faced significant challenges during the Christmas holiday, as the actress shared that she had been dealing with persistent health issues that ultimately required a hospital stay.

Fortunately, she appears to be in high spirits, sharing with her fans the journey of her more than eight-month quest for a diagnosis, which finally concluded with clarity and surgery.

GH Spoilers – Risa Dorken Shared Her Healthcare Journey On Instagram

Dorken took to Instagram on December 29 to share a series of photos from her hospital stay and her recovery at home-she began her post with a reassuring message. “First, I’m doing well-my journey of over eight months to find a diagnosis reached a turning point during Christmas week in the hospital.”

She reflected on the numerous scans, tests, and procedures she endured in her quest to uncover the source of her pain, admitting, “I had nearly come to terms with it all. Only because ‘they’ told me to, ” however, she emphasized, “BUT! I know my body better than anyone-the pain was unbearable, and I recognized it wasn’t right. So, I sought help at a different hospital, and they truly listened; a heartfelt thank you to UCLA for your professionalism, care, and kindness.”

General Hospital Spoilers – Risa Dorken Endured Several Surgeries On Her Path To Wellness-Encourages Advocating For One’s Health

The soap opera actress expressed her gratitude to the nurses and doctors who assisted her, along with her husband Bo Clark.

She urged fans to advocate for themselves if they feel something  wrong, even if doctors don’t find anything at first; “We have answers and are healing because I stood up for myself.

Sometimes, it’s tough for healthcare providers to take you seriously when they see your chart, notice mental health issues, run tests, and say nothing is wrong—’it’s just your anxiety,'” Dorken explained.

The 34-year-old added, “Well, sometimes scans can be misleading, and there could be a serious issue inside you… just saying,” before wishing everyone a “healthy 2025.”

Many friends and fans showed their support for Dorken, sharing their own experiences and hoping for her smooth recovery.
