If so, it could change the landscape of his current relationship status with his ex-wife. Elizabeth doesn’t have high hopes for Lucky’s trip back to Port Charles.
She knows as well as Aiden does that he’s there only to save Lulu Falconeri’s (Alexa Havins) life. He didn’t come home because he missed his son or Elizabeth.
That being said, nearly meeting his maker in Africa in Jenz Sidwell’s (Carlo Rota) compound left him mulling over the way he has lived his life, and it seems he’s got a fair amount of regrets. As he tries to make up for lost time with his son, how far will it go in convincing Elizabeth that he’s a changed man?
When Elizabeth first told Aiden that his dad was coming home, he didn’t seem too thrilled about it. He wasn’t going to be fooled into believing it had anything to do with him, no matter how much Elizabeth tried to sugarcoat things.
Deep down, she knew she was trying to pull the wool over her own eyes as much as she was her son’s.
Regardless, as Lucky segues back into Aiden’s life, he should expect some pushback. Cleary he is, and that’s why he’s so hesitant to make that pitstop and get on with it already.
He may have some angry outbursts from Aiden in his future, but that won’t deter him from sticking around and trying to prove to him that things are going to change.
It’s interesting that Lucky doesn’t think his father — Luke Spencer (Anthony Geary) — would be proud of him. The apple sure didn’t fall far from the tree. What more could Luke really expect than for Lucky to follow in his footsteps over his mother’s?
Nonetheless, Lucky wants to turn his life around, and that is probably going to start with his relationship with Aiden and his other family members.
Elizabeth opening her arms to him may end up being a side effect neither one of them saw coming, but his ever-present feelings for her aren’t what is driving his desire to reconnect with Aiden.
Nothing tugs at Elizabeth’s heartstrings more than a man who comes along and wants to be a father to her boys. But alas, finally, one of their own fathers is desiring to play the role that was always intended for him.
Having Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) step up to the plate to pay for Jake Spencer’s (Hudson West) education in Spain was touching, but it will pale in comparison to Lucky wanting to be involved in Aiden’s everyday life.
Will that change bridge the gap between them that ultimately gets Lucky and Elizabeth back on track as a couple? Stay tuned for more GH news and spoilers just ahead to find out.
