GH Spoilers: Kelly Monaco’s Bittersweet Words: “Still Doesn’t Make Any Sense To Me”

General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease that on October 6, Kelly Monaco (Sam McCall) posted to social media a photo of her on the set with Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis Davis), Kate Mansi (Kristina Corinthos), and Kristen Vaganos (Molly Lansing-Davis). The caption was short and sweet: “Last scene with the Davis girls.”

Monaco added “Still doesn’t make any sense to me.” She’s referring to the news that her character is leaving the show, perhaps never to return.

The character is marked for death but soap fans know that death is a just a limbo state from which many, many characters return alive and well. Will Sam McCall come back to PC after her demise? We shall see.

Late in August fans learned that Monaco’s character is being eliminated from the ABC soap. Monaco indicated that she was completely taken by surprise at the turn of events. She debuted in Port Charles, New York two decades ago, appearing on GH and its spinoff, Port Charles.

She has made various comments online since the news broke, in one instance telling an Instagram poster that after the late Billy Miller’s (Drew Cain) departure in 2019 “Sam’s storyline stopped.”

Monaco intimated that TPTB had been “stripping Sam of every characteristic she had. Something I worked for decades to build … Slowly dismantling her, into a character that I did not recognize, let alone the audience.”

She added “Call it what you will. Retaliation at it[s] finest. I will give a proper statement. The truth will set you free.”

Daytime is a tight community and it could be that Monaco will be hired by another soap. When Port Charles was cancelled, the current General Hospital EP Frank Valentini wanted to hire her at the show he was running at the time, ABC’s One Life to Live.
