While many are assuming she may be annoyed that her mom covered for Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), it’s true there could be more to the story. It’s no secret that Joss loathes her former stepfather and wants him to stay as far away from her and everyone she cares about as possible.
So when she learns that Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) encouraged his criminal dad to rope their mother into his current fiasco, she won’t be thrilled. That being said, Carly is a big girl and she didn’t have to make this choice. So why did she? That’s just what Joss will want to know.
Shooting FBI Special Agent John ‘Jagger’ Cates (Adam Harrington) didn’t seem like it was originally part of Sonny’s plan, but he has to pivot with Cates ready to drag Kristina Cortinthos Davis (Kate Mansi) back into a jail cell — perhaps for life.
Getting him to the Quartermaine residence was easy, but we sure are stumped as to why he thought that was the best place to do him in. He didn’t know who would or wouldn’t be there, and he was potentially putting his family at risk of being suspects in Cates’ murder.
So, when Joss claims this was a selfish move on Sonny’s part, she’ll be right. Thus, why on Earth would Carly help him at all?
There wasn’t much time for Sonny to explain things to Carly. Fortunately for him, she trusts him enough — now that he’s properly medicated again — to go along with whatever he asks. She knows he wouldn’t put her in harm’s way.
At least, that’s how she looks at it. From Joss’ perspective, he put everyone in the house in harm’s way. He involved his son — Carly’s son. He lied to his other son. There was a cop on the premises and he boldly killed Cates at the gatehouse anyway.
Still, when Carly walked into the living room with Sonny still tucking in his shirt, it seemed obvious to everyone else there that they’d been up to something. If only it were just that.
Joss is going to be furious when she learns this little detail that paints the picture of her mom getting back together with her former stepdad.
Sonny is high on the list of Joss’ worst enemies, and the last thing she wants is to see her mom get roped into that way of life all over again. Now, it seems as though she’s there.
Will Carly tell Joss the truth — that there’s nothing going on between them — or will she toe the line in support of Sonny even if it costs her her daughter? Stay tuned for more GH news and spoilers to see how this plays out.
