General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) has been well aware of Sam McCall’s (Kelly Monaco) feelings about him for the last several years.
They didn’t end their marriage bitterly, but that was only because Jason was able to be the upstanding guy he is and took one for the team.
For whatever reason, Sam was no longer comfortable with him being around their son, Danny Morgan (Asher Antonyzyn).
Now, rumor has it Sam is going to die soon, and that will leave Danny in Jason’s custody as his biological father. But is that the best course of action? Will Jason make that decision unilaterally?
General Hospital Spoilers — Dante Falconeri Brokered Some Peace
Last month, we saw Danny venture out for some alone time with his dad that Dante co-signed. He didn’t know Sam would have a problem with it and didn’t think to check with her first.
After that exchange, Sam didn’t come down hard on Danny or Dante. She let the moment pass and was glad he had some quality time with his father.
That specific father-son outing seemed to set the stage for more conversation about their relationship that was less tense than before. Would that have happened without Dante’s gentle intervention?
GH Spoilers – Hint Jason Morgan Doesn’t Disagree
Some fans have taken Jason’s deferment to Sam on parenting to mean he agrees with her.
Really, he just doesn’t think he has the room to argue that he’s father of the year when he’s been so absent from his son’s lives — and for reasons that mostly are rooted in his choice to be in the mob and the danger that comes with that.
He can’t pretend it doesn’t exist. Still, he also trusts his ability to protect his kids and be a good father. With Sam out of the picture, will he step aside and let Dante fill that role, or will he step up and take the second chance that is being given to him?
General Hospital Spoilers — Does Danny Morgan Get A Say?
Danny isn’t a young child anymore. He may have a rightful say in what happens to him in this circumstance. Or, at least, he may want a say. Will Jason honor that?
It’s likely, but it’s hard to say which side of circumstances Dante will come down on — not that he has any legal standing, but Jason is an amenable guy.
On the other hand, Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) could file for custody and Jason probably wouldn’t fight her on it, but doesn’t she have enough on her plate?
Will Jason and Dante settle this out of court, and will Danny be okay with their decision? Stay tuned for more GH news and spoilers to find out.
