GH Spoilers: Is Gio Brook Lynn’s Biological Child — Or Brenda’s?

General Hospital (GH) spoilers tease Giovanni “Gio’ Palmieri (Giovanni Mazza) has been rumored to be Brook Lynn Quartermaine’s (Amanda Setton) son.

Yes, apparently it’s possible that way back in the day when Brook Lynn was hard at work breaking Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zampronga) apart from Lulu Falconeri (Alexa Havins), they could have actually hooked up and had a child.

Brook Lynn soon left Port Charles after Dante went back to Lulu and we know very little about what happened in her life in Bensonhurst with Lois Cerullo (Rena Sofer).

Everyone is making this assumption based on a discussion she had with Dante about their past, and about secrets that don’t need to come out. But does that mean the secret is Brook Lynn’s, or is it Dante’s secret with someone else — someone like Brenda Barrett (Vanessa Marcil)?

Longtime GH fans will recall that Brenda has a child — Alex Barrett (Quinn Friedman) — years ago. Dante claimed to be the child’s father, which led to rumor of an affair between them — something that Dante wanted but Brenda seemingly never allowed to happen.

In reality, it was determined that she needed Dante’s cover as the father to protect her baby from his real father — mob boss Aleksander Janacek (Antonie Knoppers). But since when has a settled storyline stopped GH from mixing things up?

While it’s not likely that they’ll now claim Alec is Dante’s son, they could claim that Brenda and Dante did have an affair, and that she gave that child up for adoption.

GH Spoilers – Leak Brook Lynn Quartermaine May Know All About Gio Palmieri

Brook Lynn and Dante discussed a secret from their past a couple of months ago. We haven’t seen them engage on the topic ever since. This is clearly going to be a slow burning storyline.

Nonetheless, neither of them wanted the truth about whatever they were hiding to come out, though they didn’t let on what it was about, who it would impact, or who else knew about it.

Could Brook Lynn be aware that Gio is actually Brenda’s son — even if Brenda herself doesn’t know? Is Dante included in this secret and knows he’s Gio’s father, or was he merely talking to Brook Lynn about there being a secret child but he has no idea that it’s Gio?

It’s not likely that Dante knows Gio is his son and is happily going along as though it doesn’t matter. Likewise, it’s not probable that Brook Lynn knows either.

Knowing a child belonging to Dante and Brenda is out there is far different from knowing who it is. But it seems like Lois and Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) may be fully apprised of who Gio is.

Did they set him up with his adoptive mother with the intention of keeping tabs on him all along?

Is that why Sonny funded his education in music and took him under his wing while also not mentioning him to anyone — not even Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) over all the years they were married?

If Gio is Sonny’s grandchild, it would make sense that he’d go to such lengths, and there is nothing he and Lois wouldn’t do for Brenda’s sake.
