General Hospital (GH) spoilers and updates for Friday, August 9 tease reassuring promises, encouraging friends, and assumed promised payback?

Laura Collins (Genie Francis) makes reassuring promises, Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom) encourages a friend, and Kristina Corinthos-Davis (Kate Mansi) wants a payback promise!

Positive Report

Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) looks like he’s in an office setting as he smiles and provides a positive report.

He is telling someone that he has really good news for them, which will probably be words they’ve been waiting to hear.

Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) had previously asked someone for a favor concerning something, but it never was shown who was on the other end of the line.

Perhaps it was Drew who Michael was talking to at the time, and he’s come back with an answer. Considering everything that’s happened over the past few days, everyone can use some good news!

Reassuring Promises

Elsewhere, Laura is visiting Heather Webber (Alley Mills) in her hospital room at GH, where she’s been brought in for a checkup.

Heather hangs on for dear life to everything Laura says, and Laura tells her she has her word on that.

Heather just endured a heartbreaking visit from Trina Robinson, (Tabyana Ali) who refused to ever forgive her for what she’d done, though she asked.

Heather seemed very remorseful and sincere, as she wept profusely after Trina left-Laura’s reassuring promises mean a lot! Laura looks at Heather like she believes that she’s a changed woman.

Encouraging Friends

Elsewhere in the hospital, it looks like Kevin is in his office as he encourages a friend. An emotional Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) sits beside him, looking devastated and she probably could use a cup of calming herbal tea.

Perhaps Alexis is blaming herself for not being able to fix the devastation and the problems for her loved ones.

Kevin looks at her and reminds her that she can’t do it all alone, she needs to accept help. She needs the help of close friends and those who reach out, such as Felicia Scorpio (Kristina Wagner) did earlier to Kristina.

Showing Appreciation

At the Metro Court dining room, Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) is sitting with Michael and they’re having a cup of coffee together.

Michael is trying to make amends with Nina, it would appear, since he’s telling her he wants to show his appreciation for everything he’s done for Willow Corinthos (Katelyn MacMullen).

Also in this episode, Michael will request some help from Willow, perhaps for another situation. It’s been a rough time in Port Charles for all of Kristina’s friends and extended family, Michael, Willow and Nina included.

Promised Payback?

In the meantime, Sonny’s with Kristina in her hospital room, still in the intensive care unit, as she had extensive injuries and a C-section where they couldn’t save her baby.

She’s frustrated and angry as she cries out to her father, questioning when is Ava Jerome (Maura West) finally going to pay for everything she has done?

Even though Ava can’t prove she’s responsible for Kristina tripping over John “Jagger” Cates’ (Adam J. Harrington) gym bag causing her to crash through the window, she did grab her arm.

Kristina wants Ava to pay for more than her injuries and the loss of her baby, however, she wants her to pay for everything she has done.

That means Morgan Corinthos’ (Bryan Craig) bipolar medicine switched with placebos, and everything she’s done to Sonny as well.
