GH Spoilers: Finola Hughes Talks Daytime Emmy Nod, Character Shift, As Well As Romance For Anna

General Hospital (GH) spoilers indicate that a lot is going on right now in Anna Devane’s life. The same could be said for her character’s portrayer, Finola Hughes. The actress recently sat down to talk about a variety of things with Michael Fairman TV.

General Hospital Spoilers – Finola Hughes’ Recent Lead Actress Daytime Emmy Nomination

Hughes recently scored yet another Lead Actress Daytime Emmy nod for her work on GH as superspy and Police Commissioner, Anna Devane. While she’s only won one Daytime Emmy as Anna Devane, back in 1991, over the years she’s been nominated a total of 11 times.

During her Michael Fairman TV interview, Anna notes that the reel she put together for her Daytime Emmy nomination centered around Charlotte Cassadine’s (Scarlett Fernandez) shooting, as well as talking about the situation with Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), Anna’s breakup with Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart), and his lies about the entire situation.

She notes that GH producer, Michelle Henry, helped her put it all together. Hughes adds that all the nominees in her Lead Actress category are “great”, and that being nominated is “encouraging and extraordinary”, “affirming”, as well as “sweet and lovely” to even be acknowledged.

GH Spoilers – Finola Talks Anna Devane’s Character Shift With Sonny Corinthos

When asked about the “harder” line Anna is taking with Sonny, Ms. Hughes acknowledges the “shift” in the relationship between the mob boss and superspy. Finola notes the people’s roles within the little town are becoming less gray and moving into different areas.

She adds that characters are starting to draw lines in the sand to “take a stand”. But sadly, many with opposing thoughts on Sonny aren’t aware his meds are being tampered with.

General Hospital Spoilers – Anna Devane’s Love Life

During the chat, Anna’s love life was asked about, specifically who her next romance would be.

While there were once hints that it might be John “Jagger” Cates (Adam Harrington), Anna notes while she loves Adam and he’s wonderful – so is Charles Mesure (Jack Brennan) – it seems that both are in love with Carly Spencer (Laura Wright). She jokingly states that Anna will take Carly’s leftovers.

Still, in seriousness, Finola goes on to say that she wants to do more stuff with James (Valentin) and hopes Anna will get to play a little more with Valentin. She adds the dynamic will be interesting as even though his dad is dead, Valentin is still a Cassadine.
