GH Spoilers: Fans Speak Out-The Compelling Reasons ‘Y&R’ Should Hire Kelly Monaco From ‘GH’

General Hospital (GH) spoilers and updates reveal the drama in Port Charles is far from over, as the show experiences a whirlwind of surprising changes.

However, the firing of 20 year plus vet Kelly Monaco (Sam McCall) has left fans reeling; many want Y&R to scoop her up and pair her with a former GH co-star.

General Hospital Spoilers – Kelly Monoco Has Been In The GH Family Over Twenty Years

Kelly has been in the GH family for over twenty years, starting on the spinoff Port Charles as Livvie Locke, daughter of Dr. Kevin Collins (Jon Lindstrom) with a former flame.

When Port Charles ended, she migrated to the regular daytime drama and had been there ever since as Sam. Suspicions are that the show is killing Sam off so Lulu Spencer (most recently Emme Rylan) can have her liver.

Kelly hasn’t directly addressed the situation other than to say she was blindsided by the show’s decision to kill off her character, which she found out suddenly.

Steve Burton, who plays Jason Morgan was as shocked as everyone else on the show they were all told at the same time while the show was on break-and said “it sucks!”

GH’s unfair firing of Kelly might just be a golden opportunity for another soap; fans of Kelly Monaco have flocked to Twitter to share their reactions to her leaving the show.

More than a few have proposed that CBS’s The Young & The Restless should jump at the chance to cast her, ideally alongside a former co-star.

Jason Thompson, who played Dr. Patrick Drake from 2006 to 2016, is well-remembered for his romantic storylines with both Robin Scorpio (Kimberly McCullough) and Sam McCall.

Ironically, as he left for YR to play the Billy Abbott character, the late Billy Miller left his role as Billy Abbott to play Jason on GH-the rest is history!

The irony of Jason Thompson leaving GH to play Billy Abbott as Billy Miller left YR to play Jason Morgan wasn’t lost on fans of both shows!

Soaps.com has crafted an intriguing storyline suggesting that CBS could bring Kelly Monaco on board as a new romantic interest for Billy Abbott; however, she’s not limited to just one soap.

Fans of Days Of Our Lives believe Monaco would seamlessly fit into the Peacock network’s lineup-a discussion on Reddit mentioned various past characters she could play.

Mentioned were Princess Greta Von Amberg (Kristian Alfonso) and Mimi Lockhart (Farah Fath); Steve Burton recently departed from Days Of Our Lives, where he played Harris Michaels.

Steve also had a stint on The Young And The Restless during his break from General Hospital after Jason’s initial “death.” But DOOL fans had many more ideas for Kelly for DOOL storylines!

GH Spoilers – DOOL Fans Discussed Storylines For Kelly As A DOOL Character

Historically, GH and DOOL have had actors in common many times-Wally Kurth still plays on both shows concurrently, on GH as Ned Quartermaine and DOOL as Justin Kiriakis.

DOOL’s Stephen Nichols and Mary Beth Evans played Stefan Cassadine and Katherine Bell, respectively, and both Charles Shaughnessy and Thaao Penghlis played Victor Cassadine, and Matt Ashford was on both shows.

Here are more fan suggestions: Brady Black’s (Eric Martsolf) girlfriend; I’d like to see Brady have someone to be his plus 1-another, “If Arianna Hernandez (Lindsey Hartley) wasn’t dead-dead, she’d work!”

One even suggested Kelly to replace Arianne Zucker as Nicole Walker, but she’d have to go blonde to do so-that could work, Greg Vaughan has worked with Kelly on GH.

Recently GH-departed Michael Easton also played a role on DOOL early in his acting career as Tanner Scofield, and they could pair him with Kelly in a DOOL role.
