Toward the end of June, he humbled himself and entered rehab. Saying goodbye to his little girl, Violet Finn (Jophielle Love), was one of the most painful moments we’ve endured in GH history.
A child that age having to understand alcoholism and addiction is brutal, and it pulled at fans’ heartstrings. But we also knew it was the end of Finn.
Now, we wait to find out exactly how that end came to fruition, because he clearly can’t just stay in rehab forever. Nonetheless, that’s exactly where his family has assumed he’s been for the last nearly-ninety days. How will they react when they learn otherwise?
Brook Lynn Quartermaine (Amanda Setton) knew how hard it was for her hubby, Harrison Chase (Josh Swickard), to drop his big brother off at rehab and hope for the best while taking his niece under his wing.
Temporarily raising Violet while Finn got back on his feet would come to be the easy part though. Although she misses her father terribly, she’s looking forward to their reunion.
When Chase came back from dropping Finn off, Brook Lynn asked whether he watched him go into the facility — which he confirmed he did. Was that foreshadowing of what was to come?
Chase might have watched Finn walk into the rehab facility, but that doesn’t mean he didn’t walk right back out as soon as his baby brother drove away.
While there could be a more nefarious plot line in store that paints Finn as some kind of victim who was taken against his will, we’re doubting it. Right now, it seems like his family is in for a shock — Violet included.
Typically, the first ninety days of rehab are pretty intensive. Chase and Brook Lynn are likely expecting to hear from Finn anytime now.
Whether it’s Chase or Tracy who inquire about Finn’s case status, they’re in for a major surprise when they learn there has never been a patient by that name at that facility.
Brook Lynn and Chase had no hesitation about doing whatever was best for Violet during this difficult time. Gregory Chase’s (Gregory Harrison) death hit Finn harder than anyone expected, and his old faulty coping mechanisms kicked in leading him to relapse.
No one is blaming him at this point. They’re all proud that he took the steps to get help — and so quickly. But when they find out he never actually checked in at the rehab facility, will they assume something awful happened, or that he just chose booze over his baby girl and decided to walk off into the night and into a new life — abandoning Violet?
If that’s the case, anger and resentment could ensue while Chase and Brook Lynn scramble to make more permanent plans for raising their niece. Stay tuned for more GH news and spoilers to see how this plays out.
