When Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) came back from Pentonville, Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) was far from thrilled with him.
Drew didn’t stop to think that Sam may not want to uproot Scout from the school she loves before announcing the in-roads he had made at a posh girls-only private school for her to migrate to.
Moreover, Scout was hardly happy with the decision but didn’t want to let her dad down. We thought Drew realized the error of his ways with that experience, but it appears he hasn’t yet. Rumor has it when Sam is pulled out of Scout’s orbit, Drew is going to go full speed ahead grooming her to be just another Quartermaine.
Drew may not have been himself when he came home from prison, but he’s found a bit more solid ground since then — emphasis on a bit. It wasn’t just Sam who noticed a change in him.
Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) echoed the same concerns. Drew claimed he was just making up for lost time and trying to give his daughter everything he could.
He’s definitely a Quartermaine, right? So when he takes up the Q name in pursuit of taking up the mantle in Congress, will Scout come along for that ride?
Everyone has been a bit taken aback by Drew’s announcement that he’s running for Congress, given that he has never once mentioned any interest in getting into politics.
While some people are rallying behind him with excitement, others — like Carly and Sam — are hesitant and don’t understand what his motivation is.
While they know Drew to be the kind of guy who likes to do good for others, it sounds like this business venture is a bit more about ego and acclaim. Will he morph into a greedy and self-serving Quartermaine right in front of our eyes?
As Sam soon finds herself on the chopping block, she may become all the more concerned about Drew’s state of mind and how it will impact their daughter.
Speaking of not quite being himself, is Drew headed in a whole new direction that will leave him practically unrecognizable to the people who love him the most — his daughter included?
If so, that’s not going to sit well with Sam, who may find herself in hot water soon as the FBI zeroes in on who hacked into their evidentiary database to spy on the leverage Special Agent John ‘Jagger’ Cates (Adam Harrington) is holding over Jason Morgan’s (Steve Burton) head.
If Sam is carted off to prison — even while pending a trial — then Drew will be forced to take on full custody of Scout while her mom is “away.”
Will that leave him with way too much power and wielding it the way a true Quartermaine does? Keep checking back with us for more GH news and spoilers to find out.
