GH Spoilers: Did Sam Just Give Dante A Hall Pass To Marry Lulu?

General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that the death of Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) was sudden and the manner of death (a heart attack as far as we know) is not unheard of after a major surgery.

Sam donated a part of her liver to comatose Lulu Spencer (Alexa Havins) who will recover and go on to resume her life in Port Charles, New York.

The irony is that Dante Falconeri (Dominic Zamprogna) lost Sam because she was kind enough to try and help his ex-wife. How Dante deals with this current tragedy is key to his future.

Dante gave Sam an engagement ring after the operation. She was thrilled with the bling but said something odd: She told Dante that it’s ok with her if he still loves Lulu.

Most people would not reference their predecessor in such a situation. Maybe it was the circumstances surrounding this moment that prompted Sam’s weird reply.

But we can’t ignore the fact that Dante was basically given a hall pass to go on loving his ex. Why did the show have Dante’s fiancé give him permission to love his ex-wife?

It just seems odd, but soap logic is nothing if not odd. This is a genre where characters are like felines in having nine lives, women are confronted by children they didn’t realize they birthed, and evil twins routinely show up out of nowhere. And this zany incongruency is exactly why we love soaps.

So, we can’t help but notice that the show took Sam’s death as the exact moment to set up Sante 2.0.

We all know what comes next: Lulu is going to wake up and reclaim her life. Unless she has amnesia.

This means reuniting with Dante because she never stopped loving him. The show has set in motion a framework for Lulu to reconnect with her past by having her brother Lucky Spencer (Jonathan Jackson) come back to PC.
