GH Spoilers: Chad Duell Spills His Exit Tea On State Of Mind!

General Hospital (GH) spoilers and updates reveal Chad Duell, who recently announced he was leaving the show after fourteen years, will be on an upcoming episode of “State Of Mind”.

For those unfamiliar, “State of Mind” is the You Tube program hosted by Maurice Benard (Sonny Corinthos) and they will discuss Chad’s reasons for leaving the show.

General Hospital Spoilers – “Michael And Sonny” Talk One Last Time

On this upcoming episode, which is usually broadcast on Sunday, “Michael and Sonny” will talk one last time, as Chad will explain the reasons for his exit. When the announcement first came down, practically all GH fans assumed that the role would be recast, at least temporarily.

Not too long after, Executive Producer Frank Valentini verified it wouldn’t.Valentini promised a great exit storyline for Michael and his family-but whether that means Michael, his wife and children ride off into the sunset and live happily ever after is still unknown.

Nothing about Katelyn MacMullen (Willow Corinthos) or Viron Weaver (Wiley Corinthos) leaving has been publicized, so it’s still a guess who “his family” refers to on the show.  

One thing that has been certain is that Michael will be written out of the show in a yet unknown way, possibly permanently but that’s also a guess.

GH Spoilers – Maurice Corinthos And His Guests Talk About Personal Issues And Coping Skills

One thing that can be said is on Maurice’s “State Of Mind” usually Maurice and his guests talk openly about personal issues and coping skills, Maurice himself being openly bipolar.

Chad has had some recent traumatic events in his life, as well as some very happy ones-when Robert Adamson replaced him the last time, it had been because Chad’s father died.

A very happy event was the birth of his son, Dawson with his partner Luana Lucci-Chad’s first and only child.

Whether there are behind the scenes problems behind Chad’s decision to leave his role as Michael in such a way the character is being written out is what will be revealed.

Chad’s exit scenes as Michael more than likely had already been taped when he made the announcement.

General Hospital Spoilers – Sometimes Actors Simply Burn Out

It is true that sometimes actors simply burn out, even Maurice had to take some time off to rest after the recent storyline where he hallucinated his son Morgan Corinthos (Bryan Craig).

With Maurice’s real-life issues, that particular storyline hit a little too close to home-a perfect example of the things usually discussed on “State of Mind” and that’s where he revealed his struggle.

Chad has been in intense and emotional back-to-back storylines for practically the last fourteen years, and it’s quite possible he just needs a break!

Valentini’s comments that there will be no recast, but at the same time saying “you never know” in the future teases a decision to “rest the character”.
