General Hospital (GH) spoilers suggest fans truly enjoyed seeing Morgan Corinthos back in the land of Port Charles.
While his return was only for one episode, Bryan Craig knocked it out of the park as Morgan’s ghost/hallucination helped stop Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) from jumping off the top of the hospital building during the Tuesday, August 6 show.
Actor Bryan Craig shared some heartfelt reunions backstage and shared some of the moments with Soap Opera Digest (SOD).
General Hospital Spoilers – A Quickie Reunion With His Onscreen Mom & Ex-Girlfriend
Craig reveals he got to the set and went through the typical events to get ready for Morgan’s special show.
He went through hair and makeup, and got fitted for clothes and during this entire process, he ran into his onscreen mom, Laura Wright (Carly Spencer), and onscreen ex, Maura West (Ava Jerome).
Sadly, his reunion was brief with Laura Wright, as they caught up as she was running up to film some scenes.
However, it sounded like the two were quite excited to run into each other. It was a quick, ‘How are you?’, and they shared a big hug before both dashed on to work.
Meanwhile, Craig states that it was good to see Maura, as she’s like his “female” Maurice Benard, as Sonny’s portrayer has acted like a mentor to him.
Bryan goes on to say that Ms. West has always been supportive of his career since he left GH. He adds that she was busy that day as well, so, it was a quickie catch-up with her, too.
GH Spoilers – The Unknown Penguin Factor
The SOD interview turned to the topic of Morgan’s passing in 2018 when a grieving Carly remembered her son’s love of penguins.
SOD questioned if Bryan was aware of Morgan’s passion for them, and Craig stated he hadn’t heard of that one. He adds, “I knew he liked gambling! I remember that because, in turn, I started liking gambling outside of work.”
Still, Bryan adds that it may be a good thing he didn’t know about his GH character’s passion for penguins.
After all, when Craig took on the role in 2013, Morgan’s nickname was ‘Captain Morgan’. He goes on to say that he had a massive Captain Morgan sign over his bar at his house to honor the name.
Craig notes, “… I mean, I probably would have been influenced to buy some weird stuff if I’d known about the penguin thing!”
