General Hospital (GH) spoilers show that fans loved the two-episode tribute to the late Jacklyn Zeman and her character, Bobbie Spencer.
Many old familiar faces were on hand for the memorial, such as Lucas Jones (Ryan Carnes), plus there was a special guest star.
In the 90s Brighton Hertford played B.J. Jones, Bobbie’s daughter who died in an accident in 1994.
She came back to GH playing a reporter named Angela Brighton who it turns out was exactly what her name indicated—an angel, the spirit of BJ all grown up. It was a delightful and poignant storyline twist and now Hertford is sharing one of her favorite memories of Zeman.

Hertford talked to Soap Opera Digest about her memories playing BJ: “Brad (Maule, Tony Jones) and Jackie (were)the biggest influences because I spent the most time with them on set.”
Hertford also talked to Michael Fairman about her time on set, recalling a special memory of Zeman.
When Hertford was 8: “Jackie gave me a butterfly ring that has an opal in it. We had this really special moment where she gave it to me, and she talked to me about the significance of butterflies in her life.”

Hertford added that Zeman told her “that in order to make sure that the opals never crack, I’m supposed to take my pinky and rub it on the inside of my nose, where your natural body oils collect, and rub it on the opal.”
Now whenever Hertford sees someone with an opal, she shares the special instructions that Zeman gave her. She noted that “Jackie gave it to me as a way of saying goodbye.”

Hertford credits following GH include the tv shows “Dawson’s Creek” and “7th Heaven” and the films “The Parent Trap” and “The Master of Disguise.”
