GH Spoilers: Ava Plans To Take Over For Sonny

General Hospital spoilers (GH) tease that Ava Jerome (Maura West) has gone out of her way to isolate Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Bernard) from his friends and family.

At first glance, it would seem as though she had fallen in love with mobster, but she assured Nikolas Cassadine (Adam Huss) that wasn’t the case.

So if she’s not doing what she’s doing out of love, then what is the endgame she has in mind? What reward could be worth all the risks that Ava has taken?

Ava ended her friendship with Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) by manipulating her former friend into selling her half of the Metro Court to Jason Morgan (Steve Burton).

Nina was under the impression that Sonny and Jason were still on good terms and that he would be happy with Nina for the sale. Ava actually agreed and told her the sale was great idea.

However, she omitted the fact that Sonny considers Jason his enemy at the moment and was furious with Nina. Once Nina realized what Ava had done, she signed Sonny’s divorce papers and effectively ended her friendship with Ava.

But Nina isn’t the only person Ava has worked to isolate Sonny from. She’s constantly been in his ear about how everything bad that has happened to Sonny is Jason’s fault. She been badmouthing Jason to Sonny every chance she gets.

Since Ava is also aware that Sonny’s bi-polar medication has been altered, she knows full well Sonny will play right into her hands. It’s almost as if she’s steering Sonny to take action against Jason of a permanent nature.

Ava knows that will Jason out of the way that she is most suited to take over for Sonny should he become unavailable to run his criminal empire.

As a former member of the Jerome Crime Family, Ava has the experience and know-how to take over for Sonny.

While it’s not clear if she hopes to either kill Sonny herself or hope he lands in jail, Ava has positioned herself as the next in line for a reason.

And she may get her chance sooner rather than later. The recent murder attempt on Jason will likely land Sonny in prison so look for Ava to make an offer to Sonny.

Of course, it’s unlikely she plans to return it once Sonny’s is back so she must be hoping he either dies or is helpless in prison.
