GH Spoilers: Are Trina’s Triggers Around Gio Proof It’s Time To Move On?

General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal Trina Robinson (Tabyana Ali) was struck when she first saw Giovanni ‘Gio’ Palmieri (Giovanni Mazza) climbing out of the Metro Court pool completely drenched.

For whatever reason, she suddenly saw the memory of Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Chavez) playing out in front of her.

Still grieving the love of her young life, Trina is far from ready to move on with someone else — or so she tells herself.

But the more she interacts with Gio, the more it is starting to look like Trina may be ready to move on sooner than she expected. But where is this storyline headed as it continues to treat Trina as being plagued by trauma and haunted by Spencer’s memory at every turn?

Trina’s first conversation with Gio was rather disturbing as she ran off to the ladies’ room to compose herself and wondered why she was suddenly moving backward in terms of bouncing back from losing Spencer.

She thought she was on the road to being able to move through most days without feeling the memory of him hanging over her like a wet blanket, but Gio’s questions about what happened to her boyfriend left her coming apart at the seams.

Was that really because she didn’t want to be reminded of her loss – as though she ever forgets it — or is Trina finding it hard to engage with Gio specifically because she is attracted to him?

GH Spoilers – Hint There’s A First Time For Everything

We first saw Trina deal with her crush on Cameron ‘Cam’ Webber (William Lipton) and lose out to Josslyn ‘Joss’ Jacks (Eden McCoy) in style. She took that rejection like a champ and truly wanted her two best friends to be happy with each other.

Rumor has it she could end up in a similar situation soon with Gio and Joss — who is supposed to be embracing a reconnection with Dex Heller (Evan Hofer), but can’t seem to stop smiling at her coworker, Gio.

Trina may not see the writing on the wall just yet since she’s still buried in her grief, but she may be bolder this time around before letting Joss sweep yet another guy away from her.

Could it be that all of Trina’s uncertain feelings around Gio are signs from Spencer that it’s time to move on? Maybe, maybe not, but it really only matters what Trina believes.

She may feel guilty for even entertaining the thought of being with another guy already, but it looks like she’s going to struggle to keep her attraction to Gio under wraps.

His artistic style and musical skills have already blown her away, and it’s safe to say that’s a connection she didn’t share with Spencer.
