GH EX-Crew Members’ COVID-19 Vaccine Lawsuit Against ABC Going To Trial

General Hospital (GH) spoilers note that life could be imitating art, as the show is facing some major drama.

While news hit recently that Ingo Rademacher’s (Jasper “Jax” Jacks) COVID-19 vaccine lawsuit filed against ABC/Disney was dismissed by a judge, another similar legal case involving former GH crew members James Wahl and Tim Wahl will be heading to trial.

For those that recall, Rademacher’s lawsuit was over the COVID-19 vaccine mandate. The show added the new policy for employment, and as such, Ingo was let go in November 2021.

Still, this other GH lawsuit, headed by James Wahl and Tim Wahl was filed in June 2022, and they are accusing the network of religious discrimination, much like Rademacher was.

Tim and James Wahl, (a father and son) who were working in GH’s special effects department were let go for refusing to comply with the COVID-19 vaccine mandate.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the men dropped legal suits for wrongful termination, retaliation, and disability discrimination against the network.

However, they have continued with their religious discrimination claims. Interestingly enough, an L.A. judge has determined this legal suit should be seen by a jury.

GH Spoilers – The Wahl’s Attorney Makes Bold Comment

Scott Street, Tim and James’ lawyer, told Deadline recently that while many have moved past the pandemic, the ruling should be a reminder that thousands of individuals lost their careers because they stood up for their rights against employers.

He adds that the pandemic won’t be over unless every company that violated the rights of their employees is held accountable.

A number of studios put in place vaccine mandates in the summer of 2021 and the COVID-19 shots were mandated for anyone who worked in “Zone A” production on the show.

This generally included actors and the crew working on set, unmasked, at the time.

While both Tim and James were generally behind the scenes, there were occasions when they worked in “Zone A”.

The court order in this legal claim notes that The Court’s “hands are tied”. It goes on to say, “There are enough disputed facts that the jury, not the judge, must decide whether Plaintiffs could have been accommodated without undue hardship to the Defendant.”

A trial-setting conference is taking place on Monday, March 11 of this year.
