GH Dominic Zamprogna Talks Dante’s Final Goodbye Scenes With Sam

General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that the land of Port Charles continues to mourn the loss of Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco).

There have been some highly emotional scenes to date, and likely more to come as family, friends, and loved ones gather for her memorial service to say goodbye.

One person who will find it hard to move on is Dante Falconeri, Sam’s fiancé. Actor Dominic Zamprogna recently caught up with Soap Opera Digest (SOD) to talk about his character’s goodbye to Sam.

Kelly Monaco debuted on the soap in 2003, and Dominic entered in 2009. Despite being on the same soap for six years, they didn’t become close friends until the Sante romance hit in 2021.

Zamprogna tells SOD that Monaco is a ‘remarkable person’ that is ‘tough as nails’ and it’s “…been cool to become a friend of hers – and that won’t end. It’s just that there is still an ending because you’re not working with someone anymore.”

Sam passed away unexpectedly on the Wednesday, October 30th show. She suffered an unexpected heart attack after a successful liver donation transplant surgery.

It looked like she was going to make a full recovery, so Sam’s death is highly suspicious, and there’s a good chance that foul play is involved. An autopsy is being conducted, and both fans and Sam’s loved ones are anxiously awaiting the results.

Dominic talked to SOD about Dante’s emotional goodbye to Sam, stating, “My monologues were her last scenes, so we finished those scenes, and I basically said good-bye to Kelly then and there. She was amazing. Amazing, amazing, amazing.”

When it comes to a possible Sam McCall return, Dominic tells SOD, “It’s a soap. Who the heck knows what’s gonna happen?”

Anything is possible in the land of daytime drama, so fans will have to wait and see!
