General Hospital actor Johnny Wactor, who played Brando Corbin from 2020-2022, has died according to TMZ.
Wactor was shot and killed early Saturday morning according to his mother, Scarlett. She told TMZ that Wactor was with a co-worker when he encountered three men messing around with his car. This matches up with a report indicating that three men were trying to steal a catalytic converter.
According to Scarlett, she was informed that Wactor didn’t try to intervene but was shot anyway as the perpetrators left the scene.
Police information details that paramedics arrived on the scene around 3am. Wactor was later pronounced dead at the hospital. Police have not revealed a description the three suspects but Scarlett hopes they will be caught soon.
Wactor began his acting career in 2007 with a role on “Army Wives” then followed that up with a variety of roles over the next twenty years. His resume includes parts on “Westworld”, “The Oa”, “NCIS”, “Criminal Minds”, “Station 19” and “Hollywood Girl”.
But he’s probably best known for his role as “Brando” on General Hospital. He had a romance and marriage with Sasha Gilmore (Sofia Mattsson) before his character was killed by the serial killer known as “The Hook” in 2022.
Wactor’s mother remembers him as a loving son whose death will leave a huge hole in their family. He’s survived by his mother, and younger brothers Lance and Grant. Wactor was 37.
