General Hospital Spoilers: Finola Hughes Talks Being Stunned Over The “Jason & Anna” Kiss

General Hospital (GH) spoilers suggest that fans are still shocked over the lip lock that took place during the Thursday, September, 26 episode of the soap.

Fans could feel “something” brewing between Anna Devane and Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) evolving; however, many were caught off guard that the two ended up kissing, while Jason was handcuffed no less, in the middle of their prison cell in Africa, awaiting a dire fate.

As stunned as GH viewers were, it sounds like actress Finola Hughes was equally surprised by the turn of events.

Hughes recently spoke with Soap Opera Digest (SOD) about the AnJa kiss, stating that, “It was a bit of a shock. I wasn’t sure where it was coming from.”

She reveals that once she understood the situation Anna and Jason were in, it eased the shock and she and actor Steve Burton discussed the lip lock at great length.

Hughes states the kiss surfaced due to the heightened tension of the circumstance Jason and Anna were in. They believe their situation is dire, and while they’ve been in circumstances like this before, their current predicament is not like other ones in the past.

Finola ends her SOD interview stating that she’s quite interested to see how things play out between Jason and Anna after their kiss … should they survive Jenz Sidwell’s (Carlo Rota) camp cell, that is (which, they likely will).

Still, considering Jason’s past romance with Anna’s daughter Robin Scorpio-Drake (Kimberly McCullough) can these two navigate a relationship, all considering? Robin and Jason were more that just two people that dated and had an unbreakable bond well after their relationship ended.

After Anna and Jason kissed, fans on social media are definitely on the fence where some thought it was cringey, and others were excited to see the two characters connect on that kind of level!
