General Hospital Spoilers: Couples That Should Have Never Happened

General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that there have been some amazing super couple pairings on GH through the years. Luke Spencer (Tony Geary) and Laura Spencer (Genie Frances) are among the most well-known.

Luke and Laura saved the world from being frozen by the Cassadines. Thanks to Gloria Monty, Luke and Laura spearheaded the new action and adventure in the series that saved it from being canceled in 1978.

General Hospital Spoilers – Some Couples Were Indeed Super Couples

General Hospital Spoilers reveal that some couples were indeed ‘super couples’ and were together for a long time.

Frisco Jones (Jack Wagner) married Felicia Cummings (Kristina Wagner) and worked his way up to the head of the WSB. Robert Scorpio (Tristan Rogers) and Anna Devane (Finola Hughes) were fan favorites for years as well.

Mobster Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) were married several times and still have a large fan base to this day.

Sonny’s right-hand man, Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) were a huge fan favorite for years as well. However, Sam decided Jason was too dangerous and they called it quits years later.

GH Spoilers – Some Pairs Simply Never Should Have Happened

General Hospital also has a few pairings that never should have even been considered.

Honestly Luke and Laura were extremely controversial, but they worked, unlike the following couple who just didn’t even get off the ground as fan favorites. These couples include some of the following who fans just could not get into.

Alexis Davis (Nancy Lee Grahn) might have slept with Julian Jerome (ex-William de Vry) as a teenager and even gotten pregnant by him.

However, the toxicity of this relationship as adults should have never happened. Alexis would have been much better off if she had skipped over this one and ran in the other direction.

Carly Spencer and Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) were doomed from the start. Drew and Carly became fast friends when he turned up in Port Charles.

Unfortunately, the only real chemistry between them is that he once thought he was Jason. Drew is certainly no match for Carly in any form.

Carly Spencer and Franco Balwin (ex-Roger Howarth) was one of the sickest pairings that the writers could have come up with.

Why anyone would think that Carly being with the man who had her son raped would work is completely beyond reason.

General Hospital Spoilers – Other Pairings Were Just As Bad

Elizabeth Balwin (Rebecca Herbst) and Hamilton Finn (Michael Easton) were clearly a rebound relationship from the start.

Finn had recently been dumped by Alexis and Liz was reeling over Franco’s murder. GH just needs to pull the plug on this one.

Luke Spencer and Anna Devane are another unlikely couple that just did not pay out well onscreen. These two were much better off as friends and should have never been lovers.

Several other pairings deserve honorable mention however, I think everyone agrees that the top honor goes to Sonny Corinthos and Emily Quartermaine (ex-Natalia Livingston) because people still talk about this unexpected pairing today.
