First Trailer Drops For Taylor Sheridan’s New Series Landman

Yellowstone boss Taylor Sheridan’s oil industry series Landman has released its first exciting trailer.

 

Adapted from Christian Wallace’s 2019 podcast, Boomtown, Taylor Sheridan’s new oil industry series stars Billy Bob Thornton as Tommy Norris, AKA the Landman. As always with a Sheridan show, plenty of Hollywood stars appear in the series. These stars include Demi Moore, Kayla Wallace, Jon Hamm, Michelle Randolph, Jacob Lofland, James Jordan, and Paulina Chavez.

First trailer drops for Taylor Sheridan’s series Landman

Landman follows Billy Bob Thornton in his role as Tommy Norris, AKA the Landman. His character serves as a peacekeeper and problem solver in the world of Texas oil rigs.

In the trailer, Norris (Thornton) is driving around in the barren Texas landscape in his dusty white pickup truck, looking out for anyone or anything that is out of place. In a voiceover, Thornton says, “The oil and gas industry makes $3 billion a day in pure profit,” adding:

But before any of that money is made, you got to secure the land and manage the people. That’s my job. The first part is pretty simple; it’s the second part that can get you killed.

Thornton’s role in Landman is the Hollywood actor’s first leading TV role since he starred as Billy McBride in the Amazon Prime crime drama, Goliath, which ended in 2021. Meanwhile, Mad Men star Jon Hamm comes to Landman following his performance as the antagonistic Sheriff Roy Tillman in the exciting fifth season of Fargo.

Meanwhile, Sheridan’s previous iconic western series, Yellowstone has been one of the most popular series for Paramount since it premiered in 2018 on the Paramount Network. While the show is still facing controversy over the exit of leading man, Kevin Costner, in 2023, it was nominated for best drama series at the Critics Choice Awards. Moreover, Costner received the award for best performance by an actor in a television series at the Golden Globes.

According to Variety, Landman hails from 101 Studios, MTV Entertainment Studios and Sheridan’s Bosque Ranch Productions. Executive producers for Landman include Michael Friedman, Sheridan, Wallace, Ron Burkle, Scott Brown, Megan Creydt, David Glasser, Peter Feldman, Jason Hoch, Geyer Kosinski, David Hutkin, J.K. Nickell, Dan Friedkin and Bob Yari.

Moreover, the series is directed by Michael Friedman from scripts penned by Sheridan and Wallace.

When does Landman premiere on Paramount+?

Season 1 of Landman is set to premiere on Paramount+ on November 17.
