Fans Slam Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's Netflix 'Polo' Documentary

‘No, thank you,’ is the phrase of the day as the Prince Harry and Meghan-executive produced documentary ‘Polo’ released its first teaser. Many fans apparently aren’t interested in seeing “Dirty, sweaty boys, riding.”

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s ‘Polo’ Accused of “Animal Cruelty”

Fans aren’t exactly sure how entertaining Harry’s latest offering will be. And on top of that there’s the taint of animal abuse, which is understandably making certain fans very angry.

“Watching a series that glorifies animal abuse is utterly despicable. The Real Housewives of Horse Abuse will be a hard pass for me. Shame on you Netflix,” one fan wrote.

Animal rights charity Peta chimed in, saying that while they may want to showcase the glitzy and glamorous side of the sport, “there is no doubt that polo is more grim than glamourous for the horses.”

Another fan wrote, “This is a celebration of animal cruelty. These aren’t athletes, they are animal abusers.”

Keep in mind that Harry and Meghan did not make an appearance in the teaser, apart from having their names written as the executive producers.

Fans Greet Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Netflix ‘Polo’ Docuseries With Mixed Feelings

Apart from the animal abuse campaigners, other fans also got to share their views, with some complaining that there was nothing interesting that the teaser had to offer. “I made it through 40 seconds of the trailer and got bored. No thanks,” one fan said.

Another fan questioned whether Harry and Meghan can bring something interesting to the elite sport, saying, “Polo might seem like just a sport for the elite, but a Netflix dive into its high-stakes world could surprise a lot of people. With Harry and Meghan involved, it’s bound to mix glamour with a bit of drama… let’s see if it delivers more than just pretty visuals.”

While some complained about the drama, others actually saw it as an advantage that’ll spice up the documentary and add more pizzazz to it. “Netflix bringing the drama, the action, and the *royal* touch to the polo field! Can’t wait to dive into this world of power, prestige, and passion on December 10!”
