General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that violinist Giovanni Mazza has joined the cast as Giovanni “Gio” Cerullo, Brook Lynn Quartermaine’s (Amanda Setton) cousin from Bensonhurst. Mazza debuted the week of May 13, and his character serenaded BLQ as she walked down the aisle.

Mazza is a violinist in real life and he played the National Anthem during Game 3 of the Lakers Western Conference Final. He posted a clip to his Insta with the caption “National Anthem for the @lakers WCF Game 3 – It was such an incredible honor to play the National Anthem for the Lakers on a beautiful G. B. Guadagnini violin from 1760!

Mazza’s halftime video showcased his impressive range. He rocked out at center court in a Laker’s jersey and put on a high energy performance surrounded by dancing Laker Girls.

General Hospital Spoilers – Gio Giovanni Is a New Cast Addition

Mazza’s love of the violin started when he took lessons at the local library at age 3. He told the Chicago Sun Times “They had an instrument trial they called an ‘instrument petting zoo.’ I remember taking the violin out and really liked it, so I stuck with it.”

Mazza was discovered when he performed a solo violin medley at the Chicago Bulls Kids Talent Search in 2015, at the age of nine.

Mazza began acting in school plays and summer camps in the Chicago metropolitan area. When he was eight he got a two-year Walmart commercial gig.

Later he shot independent short films and appeared in prime time. He made his television debut in 2015 at the age of 10, playing Charlie Huggins on Nickelodeon’s Bella and the Bulldogs.
