Eugene Levy joins the recurring cast of Only Murders in the Building

As fans continue to look forward to season 4 of the Hulu series, Only Murders in the Building, casting news continues to be released. As fans know, the comedy show attracts major Hollywood talent in guest appearances, but also major stars as recurring cast.

Recently, it was reported that Meryl Streep will be back in season 4 as Loretta Durkin, Oliver Putnam’s (Martin Short) love interest. It was also reported that the new recurring cast includes Molly Shannon and Eva Longoria, who will join Steve Martin, Short and Selena Gomez.

Now, the latest news is that Eugene Levy will play a recurring role in the Hulu show. This will be his first acting role since starring in Schitt’s Creek.

Reportedly, all new characters will be integral to the investigation into the murder of Sazz Pataki (Jane Lynch), Charles-Haden Savage’s (Martin) stunt double from the series Brazzos. Meanwhile, the show reunites Levy with his old friend, Short. According to Deadline, both actors are from the same Canadian hometown. Meanwhile, they have both collaborated on several occasions. Levy also enjoyed cameos with Martin and Short in the Father of the Bride movies.

Moreover, Levy co-created Schitt’s Creek with his son Dan, and also starred in the series that attracted nine 2020 Emmy wins, including Outstanding Comedy Series. Levy also won an Emmy for his role in the series in 2019.

What can fans expect from season 4 of the Hulu series?

So far, plot details are scarce, but Disney Television Group President Craig Erwich did reveal that season 4 will see Charles, Oliver and Mabel (Gomez) taking a trip to Los Angeles, before returning home to The Arconia to investigate Sazz’s murderer. Moreover, the finale of season 3 revealed that Loretta, Oliver and Mabel were thinking about a move to Los Angeles.

Meanwhile, whatever the plot, Only Murders in the Building fans are already looking forward to season 4 of Hulu’s most-watched original comedy series. The series is produced by 20th Television and OMITB and is co-created and co-written by Martin and John Hoffman. These will also serve as executive producers for season 4, along with Short, Gomez, Jess Rosenthal and Dan Fogelman.
