David has returned to Walford, and while reconnecting with his troubled daughter Bianca Jackson (Patsy Palmer), he is taken aback to see his former flame Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) alive!

Cindy confides in her ex-husband George Knight (Colin Salmon) about how David’s arrival has thrown her off balance, prompting George to encourage her to confront the situation head-on.

After a meeting with Reiss Colwell (Jonny Freeman), David is hit with a shocking reminder of his past when he comes face-to-face with a very much alive Cindy.

With so many unanswered questions, David and Cindy take the opportunity to reflect on the last twenty years. But will their reunion be friendly, or is there unresolved tension between the former lovers?

David’s initial meeting with Bianca finds her deeply involved in the effort to free her half-sister Sonia Fowler (Natalie Cassidy), who has been wrongfully imprisoned.

On his 30th birthday, Jay receives a heartfelt video message from his dearly departed wife, Lola Pearce-Brown (Danielle Harold). As he shares this touching moment with Kat Slater (Jessie Wallace) and Phil Mitchell (Steve McFadden), the atmosphere is abruptly disrupted by Tommy.

This video is part of a series of loving recordings Lola made before her passing last year due to a brain tumor. She also created a special message for her grandfather Billy (Perry Fenwick) and Honey Mitchell’s (Emma Barton) daughter Janet Mitchell (Grace), who is celebrating her 18th birthday this year.
