Now, along with meeting her two parents she has met both brother-in-law’s. Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash) hasn’t elaborated on their complicated relationship, with good reason, we wouldn’t want to overwhelm Abby with overly negative memories right now, and for that Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) is grateful to his brother for being, at the very least, respectful about the situation.
However, that is not the only sibling in the DiMera family and not everyone will tiptoe around Chad and Abby’s feelings, case in point, EJ DiMera. (Daniel Feurriegel)
You could tell that EJ was getting a certain thrill out of letting Abigail know about their previous time together. Poor Abigail she thought that she just had a husband that she didn’t recognize, she didn’t realize that there was a whole parade of ex-lovers living all under one roof!
It was bad enough when she didn’t initially recognize the man she had promised to love and cherish, but now she has potential memories to contend with that may resurface at any time and her brother in law seems all too happy to contribute to said memories.
He even rubbed in the fact that he was involved at the time and Abigail was essentially a “homewrecker” during their time together, talk about putting salt in the wound!
The question remains though, would Abigail possibly wind up with EJ instead of Chad in the end? In yesterday’s episode one could cut the tension between them with a knife, the chemistry was on point, but does that equal an actual relationship?
Not always. Sometimes, chemistry is just chemistry, but you could tell that the way EJ was practically goading Abby about their time together, he was at the very least angling at something – and it felt like a potential hookup.
What does that mean for the DiMera boys though? If that does indeed happen, hoo boy, will things in the DiMera mansion get awkward and fast! Does Chad truly have competition with his brother, though?
In a perfect world, one would say no, that Abigail wouldn’t dare and that EJ would eventually back off, but this is Salem, and that world is far from perfect.
Indeed, what about Abigail? How does she feel about the whole thing? Aside from it being really awkward for her, would she even think about touching EJ with a 10 foot pole?
One would hope not, considering she has kids with Chad, but it’s not like that has ever stopped a soap character from keeping it all in the family before.
When (or if) her memories do return and it’s proven that she is indeed Abigail, then would she still want Chad? It would she turn to EJ? And what if she isn’t exactly Abigail but instead a mysterious third daughter that Jack didn’t know about until now?
That would open up an entirely new can of worms, but it might also free her up to hook up with EJ and ultimately free her from any obligation to Chad.
For argument ‘s sake, let’s say that it is proven that the girl identifying as Abby is not exactly Abby, what would EJ think of this development?
He seemed kind of keen on the fact that it was Abby that he was goading, but if he found out that the girl in question was indeed a new girl, would that spur him onward or would that just ruin things for him?
On the Chad front, it might cement the death knell in their relationship, but EJ might be intrigued by the prospect of this new girl, whomever she may be, if she isn’t truly Abigail. We’ll just have to see. Stay tuned!!!
