DOOL Spoilers: Who Is Tate And Is He Coming Back To Salem?

Days of our Lives (DOOL) spoilers tease that the latest iteration of Tate Donovan Black (Jamie Martin Mann) is now a SORAS’d Salem teen who’s in trouble with the law. But even before he was born, Tate had a topsy turvy life.

He debuted in 2015 then all of a sudden returned to town in 2023 all grown up! Once Tate returned to Salem his unpredictable life got a lot more complicated.

Here’s everything to know about this son of legacy characters Theresa Donovan (Emily O’Brien) and Brady Black (Eric Martsolf).

Theresa got pregnant with Tate in 2014—then things turned weird. By weird we mean Kristen DiMera (Stacy Haiduk) kidnapped her with the goal of taking the embryo. Ok, so maybe by Salem standards that’s not so weird.

Long story short, Kristen had the embryo implanted inside of herself and told Brady she was leaving Salem with a part of him (pregnant pause).

Kristen gave birth in Italy in 2015 and named the baby Christopher. Wouldn’t you know it, the baby was ailing and needed a bone marrow transplant. Instead of just asking, Kristen abducted Theresa for her bone marrow.

Luckily Brady saved the day and the family was reunited. Following the successful bone marrow transplant the couple christened their son with a new name, Tate.

Not long after, Theresa left town to protect her family. That was 2016, and Brady became a single parent.

Two years later Theresa returned to Salem and Brady wanted nothing to do with her. She sued for custody of Tate and they moved to California.

Fast forward to last year, when Tate’s parents brought the troubled kid to Salem after he was expelled from boarding school.

Things were smoothing out and then he crushed on Nicole Walker’s (Arianne Zucker) daughter Holly Jonas (Ashley Puzemis) who was obsessed with Johnny DiMera (Carson Boatman).

Holly asked him out on New Year’s Eve, and freaked out when she suggested they do drugs. He later found the teen unconscious from an overdose, and the police wrongfully arrested him for providing her with the drugs.

Holly’s stepdad EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) wanted to make an example of Tate but his lawyer (Wally Kurth) Justin Kiriakis got Tate sent to a juvenile rehab facility after the teen was beaten in jail.

The facility is in southern Illinois and Tate can’t have visitors for a month. Tell us DOOL fans have we seen the last of Tate for a while?
