DOOL spoilers reveal that Rafe was stabbed in the back – literally. It led Rafe to be comatose for a while. While Rafe was in a coma, Paulina Price (Jackee Harry) put Jada as temporary commissioner.

Jada ended up closing so many cases that by the time Rafe recovered, Paulina had a difficult decision to make. Paulina decided she wanted to keep Jada on as commissioner while Rafe would be demoted to detective.

Considering Rafe was put in the coma while in the line of duty, the demotion after his recovery was a slap in the face. At the same time, Rafe understands how proud and committed Jada is in her career.

Rafe has been through this before. Rafe’s career was at risk while he was dating Ava Vitali (Tamara Braun). Rafe also was involved with Hope Brady (Kristian Alfonso).

At one time, Hope and Rafe battled over the commissioner position. It did cause problems in their relationship, so maybe it’s better that Rafe bowed out this time.

At the same time, Javi’s conflict hint might not be about a conflict of interest. Maybe Rafe and Jada go investigate a case, only to cross paths.

What if Rafe shoots and ends up accidentally hitting Jada? With this soap, if one character goes through an experience, many times their partner will go through a similar experience later on.

So, I could see Jada getting injured on the job, and Rafe going through tremendous guilt even though it was just an accident. Could it affect them getting married?
