DOOL Spoilers: Jude’s New DiMera Name Adds To Eric’s Devastation

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers suggest that EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) is over the moon that Jude (Oliver McLarty) is back with him and Nicole DiMera (Arianne Zucker) and he’s ready to start a fresh new chapter as a family.

One major part of this all is potentially changing Jude’s name. He mentioned it this week while having a chat with his little son and noted that “Jude” DiMera would just not cut anymore.

Changing the baby’s name is understandable; however, in doing so, how much heartbreak will this all cause for who has already been through so much?

DOOL spoilers note that while Nicole might be hesitant to change Jude’s name, she’ll likely succumb to EJ’s convincing. After all, he suffered thinking his son had passed, too. She’ll reason that he deserves to give his son a name of his choosing.

The only issue is that this will just add salt to the wound for Eric. After all, “Jude” was the name he chose for the baby after he came home. He picked it, and Sloan Petersen-Brady (Jessica Serfaty) went along with it. She was desperate to keep Eric happy.

As Eric is a devout Christian, he picked the name Jude after St. Jude, the patron saint of lost causes. Finding out that EJ and Nicole have decided to change his name will tear Eric’s heart into more pieces.

Days spoilers for the week of June 3-7 reveal that Nicole and Eric will have an “emotional” discussion. This could be about EJ’s idea to change Jude’s name.

She may look to him for his blessing, and as Nicole’s gone through so much heartbreak, losing two babies in the past before she thought Jude had died, he may agree that he’s completely fine with the Jude name change.

After all, Nicole and EJ never got the opportunity to name Jude because of what Sloan did.

Still, on the inside, he’ll be completely torn about the idea. The bigger question here is that if Jude’s name is changed, how will Eric react when he finds out he is actually the baby’s biological father? The truth will eventually come out!
