While he finally found out that Jude Brady (Oliver McLarty) is his son, and he’s on the cusp of a reunion with Nicole Walker (Arianne Zucker), looks like “happily ever after” is not in the cards for him.

After all, she was the one who spilled the beans on what EJ did, there will be plenty of time to make both her and Stefan DiMera (Brandon Barash), pay, at some point.

This week’s Days preview shows EJ reminding Eric about how he was the one behind Daniel Jonas’s (Shawn Christian) death. He also made it clear that if Eric didn’t step out of the way, he’d run to Holly Jonas (Ashley Puzemis) and tell her all the details.

There’s a good chance that EJ gives Eric a choice: run away with Nicole and Jude, while Holly’s whole world falls apart, or refrain from a romantic reunion, and keep the teen’s life peaceful. How will this storyline wrap up?

DOOL Spoilers – Nicole Walker & Jude Leave, Eric Brady Turns To Booze

Arianne Zucker’s last day in Salem is Monday, July 29, and it looks like she’ll leave town with Jude to start a fresh chapter in her life. She’ll want Holly to come.

However, the teen will beg to stay in town, and Grandma Maggie Horton (Suzanne Rogers) will probably agree to let her stay at the Kiriakis mansion.

Eric will probably tell Nicole a lie, as per EJ’s threat, and watch her and his only son jet off to who-knows-where. Knowing he must scrap reunion plans with Nicole (and essentially watching Jude grow up) will devastate him.

While he’ll blame EJ, Eric may also blame himself as guilt around Daniel’s death – and the fact that Jonas, too, didn’t get to see his daughter grow up – will consume him.

Will he turn to alcohol to numb pain? Could he slowly spiral into a drunk, as a result of the situation?
