DOOL Spoilers: Cherie Jimenez Addresses Recast Haters

Days Of Our Lives (DOOL) Spoilers reveal that Days fans were not happy when Gabi Hernandez was recast. Camila Banus had played the role for thirteen years and fans believed she could not be replaced.

Cherie, as a soap newbie, certainly faced a lot of backlash over the recast. Now Jimenez wants fans to know how their reactions made her feel.

Days Of Our Lives spoilers suggests that fans loved to hate Gabi when Camila played the role. Gabi’s constant schemes were always getting her in trouble but other people’s actions tended to send her to prison.

Fans were not very accepting of Jimenez earlier this year despite her impressive resume. Fans were downright harsh before they finally warmed up to her.

Jimenez recently spoke to Woman’s World about fans reactions to her. “I cried a bunch in the beginning. The fanbase was basically bullying me. People miss Camila, and even though I tried to bring elements of her to the role, I’m not Camila. I was getting ripped apart in so many different ways — and people were reaching out to do it. It really hurt.”

DOOL Spoilers – Cherie Jimenez On Brandon Barash’s Firing

Gabi has been connected to both Stefan Dimera (Brandon Barash) and his brother Jake Dimera (Brandon Barash) for years.

Barash played both roles and when Stefan was killed off, Jake, his secretly adopted twin entered the picture. Jake and Stefan were as different as night and day but they both loved Gabi.

News broke last month that Barash had been fired. Barash’s last day was October 28 when Stefan was kidnapped on Vivian Alamain’s (Louise Sorel) orders to keep him away from Gabi.

Everyone assumed that plan would be for him to once again fight his way back to Salem and Gabi. Now fans are hoping that he will pop back up in Port Charles as Johnny Zachara again.

Days Of Our Lives Spoilers – The Day Of Days Event

General Hospital recently came under fire at the Day of Days event for firing Kelly Monaco, who had played Sam McCall for over 21 years. . Jimenez didn’t know Kelly but she could relate because of Barash’s firing. Jimenez said,

“This is a soap opera. I trust that the writers know what they’re doing. People come and go. That’s just the way it is, and it creates more drama. It creates more angst. … Characters do come back so I’m hopeful, and we’re just gonna leave it at that and whatever happens, happens. I guess we will see.”

According to Jimenez, Gabi’s love interest is gone but you will see a lighter, happier Gabi now that her cousin is in town. This doesn’t say a lot for Gabi and Stefan’s connection though, does it?
