DOOL Spoilers: Chad Falls For Abigail Look-A-Like, But Is She Really His Long-Dead Wife?

Days of Our Lives (DOOL) spoilers indicate that things are about to get crazy in the land of Salem.

During the week of August 5, Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) and Jack Deveraux (Matthew Ashford) will finally locate the woman trapped in that room (on video) who Clyde Weston (James Read) claims is Abigail DiMera.

While Marci Miller was last in the role, actress AnnaLynne McCord will step forward as Abby’s look-a-like.

While things can move fast in daytime drama, they can also move at a snail’s pace when storylines dictate. As Chad and Jack try to determine if this new Abby is their Abby, DiMera may not be able to help himself from falling in love.

DOOL Spoilers: Chad DiMera Has Struggled With His Wife’s Death

Days spoilers note that Chad has had a very hard time dealing with Abigail’s death. A lot of it has to do with the fact that she was the love of his life, but some of it is linked to the trauma surrounding how he found his wife and the moments before she passed away.

Regardless, he’s tried to move forward, and even had a relationship with Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein), Abby’s cousin, but things didn’t work out.

Upon seeing this “new Abby” will Chad fall head over heels? It may start off with being attracted to the unknown woman because she bares a striking resemblance to Abby, and then he could genuinely feel love for the woman, especially if she ends up being Abby.

Still, even if AnnaLynne McCord’s character is in fact Abby DiMera, she won’t recall the romance she shared with Chad, so the two will struggle with reconnecting.

Days Spoilers: Will This “New Abby” BE “Abby”?

This storyline could swerve a number of ways. One the one hand, AnnaLynne’s new character could be Abigail.

Then again, the soap could swerve fans – much like they did decades ago with John Black (Drake Hogestyn) when he thought he was Roman Brady (Josh Taylor) – and reveal that this unknown woman is not Abby. A DNA test will likely be conducted, but will it be conclusive?

It’s hard not to think that the show is going to have Chad become completely obsessed with AnnaLynne McCord’s character, thinking she’s Abby, genuinely falling in love with her, only for everyone to find out (months down the line) that she is not.

“New Abby” may feel as if Chad loves her only because she reminds him of his wife – much like the storyline that once occurred between Justin Kiriakis (Wally Kurth) and Bonnie Lockhart (Judi Evans) – so it’ll be interesting to see him fight for this new romance, if that’s the way this storyline goes.
